Latest! US Congressman Announces: Launching Impeachment Clause Crisis Against Biden | US | Clause
According to a report on the Washington Times website on June 13th, US Congressman Lauren Bobert announced the launch of an impeachment clause against President Biden regarding the southern border crisis. She claimed that Biden must be relieved of his position due to his failure to comply with laws controlling illegal immigration.
The report states that the Republican congressman from Colorado cited two impeachment clauses, accusing Biden of abuse of power and dereliction of duty, fueling the largest wave of illegal immigration in American history and a record high prevalence of fentanyl.
In the text of the impeachment resolution, Bobert wrote, "President Biden has put the security of the United States and the health and safety of the American people at risk. President Biden has led to a national security crisis and put the lives of the American people in danger."
The report points out that Bobert's actions are only the latest impeachment efforts against Biden. Republican congressmen such as Marjorie Taylor Green representing Georgia, Bill Posey representing Florida, and Andrew Ogres representing Tennessee have already proposed similar impeachment resolutions.
Moreover, Republican congressmen have proposed a resolution to impeach Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayokas, and have also announced recall cases against FBI Director Christopher Ray and Attorney General Merrick Garland.
The report also stated that these impeachments have not yet led to any vote in the House of Representatives, but the impeachment against Mayokas is receiving some scrutiny, and some committees are holding hearings on whether he has faithfully fulfilled his duties related to border management.
The impeachment case only requires the support of a majority of votes in the House of Representatives to pass, but conviction and dismissal still require the support of two-thirds of the votes in the Senate.
With Democrats in control of the Senate, there is little hope of a true conviction for the President himself or officials in the Biden administration. However, some Republicans still yearn to initiate an impeachment vote in the House of Representatives as a noose around the necks of government officials.
