Latest poll: More than half of African Americans expect racism in the United States to worsen for teenagers | Situation | America
On the 16th local time, a poll conducted jointly by The Washington Post and polling firm Ipsos Group showed that 51% of African Americans expected racism in the United States to worsen, 37% expected racism to remain unchanged, and only 11% said the situation would improve.
Nearly 70% of African Americans say that the situation faced by African American teenagers today is more dangerous than in the past; Nearly 60% of African American adults express great or some concern that they or their loved ones may be attacked due to their African identity.
The poll also found that the expected level of trust between African Americans and white people is very low. 80% of African American respondents stated that they believe white people do not trust or trust African Americans at all; Only 17% of people said they believe that white people trust African Americans very or very much. Among white and African American respondents, the vast majority agree that African Americans do not trust white people very much or at all.
The public opinion survey was conducted from April 28th to May 12th. The respondents included 1225 African American adults and 1018 American adults, with some overlap in the sample size between the two groups. The error margin of the African American adult sample is 3.5 percentage points, while the error margin of all American adult samples is 3 percentage points.
