The results of the 2022 forest chief incentive system were recently announced. Eight cities and counties, including Chengde City in Hebei Province and Changxing County in Zhejiang Province, were awarded incentives and commendations by the State Council, while 23 cities and counties, including Miyun District in Beijing and Jizhou District in Tianjin, were commended by the National Forestry and Grassland Administration.
The National Forestry and Grassland Administration, in accordance with the requirements of the Notice of the General Office of the State Council on Further Strengthening Supervision and Incentives under the New Situation and the Notice on Doing a Good Job in Supervision and Incentives in 2023, and in accordance with the Implementation Measures for Forest Chief System Incentives, organized the selection of local forest chief system incentives in 31 cities and counties for 2022.
Among them, eight cities and counties, including Chengde City in Hebei Province, Changxing County in Zhejiang Province, Chuzhou City in Anhui Province, Sanming City in Fujian Province, Fuzhou City in Jiangxi Province, Yueyang County in Hunan Province, Pingyuan County in Guangdong Province, and Jiangkou County in Guizhou Province, have achieved significant results in the comprehensive implementation of the forest tenure system. Inspired by the General Office of the State Council, they have arranged for the central government's forestry reform and development funds to provide support and rewards of 20 million yuan to each city and 10 million yuan to each county.

The State Forestry and Grass Administration of the People's Republic of China has issued a series of reports to Beijing Miyun District, Tianjin Jizhou District, Jincheng City, Shanxi Province, Wushen Banner, Ordos City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Fuxin City, Liaoning Province, Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, Jilin Province, Tieli City, Yichun City, Heilongjiang Province, Yuhuatai District, Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province, Jining City, Shandong Province, Zhumadian City, Henan Province, Xianning City, Hubei Province, Yulin City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Wuzhishan City, Hainan Province, Liangping District, Chongqing, Guangyuan City, Sichuan Province, Mile City, Honghe Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Yunnan Province, Changdu City, Xizang Autonomous Region, Xunyi County, Xianyang City, Shaanxi Province, Gansu Province Anding District of Dingxi City, Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture of Haibei in Qinghai Province, Shizuishan City of Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region, Bortala Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, Alar City of the First Division of Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps and other 23 other cities and counties that applied for the award were commended in a circular.
The National Forestry and Grassland Administration requires that all regions should earnestly learn from and draw inspiration from typical experiences of cities and counties, comprehensively promote the deepening of the forest chief system reform, and continuously build a long-term mechanism for the protection and development of forest and grassland resources with party and government responsibilities, local responsibilities, departmental coordination, source governance, and full coverage. The forest chief system should lead and promote key forest and grass work to a new level, making new contributions to the modernization of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature.
