Kick off for this league!, Lang Ping returns to his alma mater | Lang Ping | returns to his alma mater
On the afternoon of June 12th, Lang Ping, the former head coach of the Chinese women's volleyball team, returned to his alma mater, Chen Jinglun Middle School in Beijing, to share his story of struggle with his younger siblings.
"I am very excited and also very excited to be able to return to my alma mater. I am very happy to be able to return to the place where my dream started." After a simple opening statement, Lang Ping reviewed his experience of learning volleyball through the questions of his younger siblings. "Every time I go to school, I am particularly excited because I can 'play' at school!" Seeing the students at the scene with a knowing smile, Lang Ping continued to explain, "When I said 'play', I mean that I can run to the playground to exercise every break." Lang Ping recalled that because he was too thin and small, he was "pushed" to the basketball team by the track and field team teacher, and finally returned to the volleyball team. Fortunately, the volleyball teacher at the time was "discerning and discerning", praised Lang Ping for his good bouncing skills, and encouraged her to "be thin, it's not a big deal, you can also play volleyball", which led to Lang Ping's connection with volleyball.
In the following decades, as an athlete, Lang Ping fought bravely on the field, became the head coach, and then strategized, leading the Chinese women's volleyball team to new glories. "What is supporting you behind the scenes?" A student asked at the scene. "It's love!" Lang Ping explained the "secret to success", "Because I like it, I don't think much effort is effort." She encouraged the students present to pay more attention to the process, especially their own efforts, no matter which track they are in life, and to do their best without leaving any regrets.
On that day, Chen Jinglun High School also brought a surprise to Lang Ping: inviting the former homeroom teacher and classmates back to school to reunite with her.
"Lang Ping asked me to praise her a few more words." As soon as he stepped on stage, Lang Ping's deputy homeroom teacher, Ma Yuhong, revealed the "whispers" between the teachers and students, causing laughter from the audience. "Of course I have to praise her." After laughing, Ma Yuhong calmed down his excitement and continued to recall, "Every morning before self-study and after class in the afternoon, I could see Lang Ping practicing ball. At that time, I thought, how could this child practice ball without knowing it hurts or gets tired?"
Lang Ping was also invited to award cards to the "Lang Ping Class" and kick off the first "Lang Ping Cup" volleyball league. Liu Xuemei, the principal of Chen Jinglun Middle School, said that starting from September this year, Chen Jinglun Middle School Education Group will select "Lang Ping Class" in various school stages. We are planning the selection criteria for the 'Lang Ping Class', hoping to select a class with comprehensive development that can play a demonstrative and leading role throughout the school. In the future, the group will gradually promote the full coverage of volleyball courses in various stages.
