"Key variables" become the "maximum increment" (high-quality development research tour) Deep Sea | South China Sea | High quality
In the midst of summer, the Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City in Sanya is filled with a bustling scene. Around the two major fields of Nanfan Seed Industry and Deep Sea Technology, the Science and Technology City has built 16 public technology service platforms, registered 9649 enterprises, and settled 19 research institutes.
In Hainan, the "key variables" of technology are being transformed into the "maximum increment" of high-quality industrial development. Focusing on the national layout of scientific and technological innovation development, Hainan has made good use of its unique advantage of "temperature depth latitude". It focuses on the seed industry, deep-sea, and aerospace industries, strengthens key core technology research and development, and has consistently ranked among the top in the country in terms of R&D investment intensity and growth rate for three consecutive years.
Entering the Yazhou Bay Seed Laboratory, researchers from different universities and teams are operating instruments to intensify their experiments. "I am conducting research on rice by reducing the amount of nitrogen fertilizer used in the soil and aggregating more excellent rice genes into one variety, achieving stable and high-quality yields while reducing the impact of agricultural production on the environment," said researcher Du Mei.
"We are promoting enterprises and Yazhou Bay Seed Laboratory to jointly launch the 'unveiling and leading' project, in order to improve the conversion rate of scientific research achievements." Niu Jingjing, the full-time deputy secretary of the Party Committee of the Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City Management Bureau in Sanya, introduced that the focus is on seed industry technology innovation, with enterprises setting questions, scientific research institutions unveiling and answering questions, and market "review".
Since November 2021, Yazhou Bay Seed Laboratory has collaborated with enterprises to carry out three "unveiling and leading" activities, launching a total of 103 research projects and attracting professional research teams from 76 universities and research institutes in China.
Not only "going underground", but also "going into the sea".
On June 11th, with the arrival of the "Exploration One" scientific research ship in Sanya, the first phase of archaeological investigation work for the sunken ships on the northwest slope of the South China Sea, No. 1 and No. 2, was announced to have ended. After more than 20 days, the mysterious ancient sunken ship over 500 years ago has once again revealed its form.
Deep sea archaeology is a cutting-edge field in underwater archaeological research worldwide. The Nanshan Port of Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City is committed to building a scientific research hub, serving over 700 scientific research voyages and nearly 40 scientific research units. As of the end of May, Nanshan Port has completed 295 scientific research vessel services this year, an increase of nearly three times year-on-year.
Sanya Yazhou Bay Science and Technology City is actively promoting the construction of a public platform for deep-sea technology innovation, and further supporting the implementation of projects such as the South China Sea Stereoscopic Observation Network and the South China Sea Ocean Big Data Center. Hainan is fully committed to promoting the construction of the National Deep Sea Base South Center Platform, with platforms such as the Deep Sea Technology Innovation Public Platform and the Deep Sea Technology Laboratory as the main body.
To enter the sea, also to ascend to heaven.
More than 200 kilometers north of Sanya is Wenchang International Space City. At the construction site of the Hainan Commercial Space Launch Site, workers are busy installing the hanging seat of the rotary platform for Launch Station 1. Guo Qiang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Hainan International Commercial Space Launch Co., Ltd., said, "We will work overtime and accelerate the construction of China's first commercial space launch site to ensure the scheduled first flight in the second quarter of 2024."
This is a vivid portrayal of the smooth takeoff of Wenchang International Space City. As one of the 13 key industrial parks of Hainan Free Trade Port, Wenchang International Space City is accelerating the coordinated development of the launch zone, high-tech zone, and tourism zone, and accelerating the cultivation of the industry isomorphism of rocket chain, satellite chain, and data chain.
"Top enterprises and institute projects have successively landed in the park, and the aerospace city industry chain has gradually formed. In the first quarter of this year, the park achieved a revenue of 4.065 billion yuan, 3.39 times that of the same period last year." Dong Chenghua, Executive Deputy Director of the Wenchang International Aerospace City Management Bureau, introduced.
Industrial transformation and upgrading is not just a simple addition and subtraction, but a systematic project. Liu Zuokai, Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology of Hainan Province, introduced that Hainan is fully leveraging the advantages of the free trade port opening policy, comprehensively laying out land, sea, and air, and building a high-quality modern industrial system. "Relying on the 'land, sea, and air' major technological innovation platform, Hainan is accelerating the gathering of scientific and technological talents, gradually forming research and development advantages, and accelerating the transformation into industrial advantages."
