Recently, Kangbashi District, the political, cultural, and science and education center of Ordos City, Inner Mongolia, has put forward new goals in urban construction, such as "learning from Xiong'an far away" and "learning from Zibo near".
According to the news of "Kangbashi Release" on WeChat official account, on June 29, the 2023 regional key project construction observation meeting and work summary meeting in the first half of the year were held. The attendees went deep into the project site and observed key projects in areas such as education, real estate, commerce, culture and tourism, and infrastructure on site.
It is reported that a summary meeting will be held immediately after the observation activity ends. At the meeting, various departments exchanged speeches based on their respective functional responsibilities and work tasks.

In terms of urban construction, the meeting emphasized the need to implement "Yuanxue Xiong'an" into urban planning, with the Leijiapo Wetland as the center, layout and improve basic supporting facilities such as bus stops and parks, gradually turning the northern area into a high-quality living base for citizens, and promoting the refined management level of the main urban area to a new level with the urban axis as the center. With the Huatai area as the center, comprehensively enhance the development level and agglomeration radiation ability of the headquarters economy in the eastern area.
The meeting also proposed to implement the concept of "close learning in Zibo" in urban management, strengthen urban services, promote flexible enforcement of traffic violations, monitoring of catering and accommodation prices, and providing advanced urban management services as soon as possible, and interpret the profound meaning of "warm city" with high-quality services.

On June 30th, the new goals of "distant learning in Xiong'an" and "close learning in Zibo" in Kangbashi District were repeatedly mentioned.
On the same day, Kangbashi District held the 102nd Anniversary of the founding of the CPC and the July 1st Commendation Conference, where the old party members, outstanding party members, outstanding party workers and advanced grass-roots party organizations were commended, and awards were given to the representatives of the objects of commendation. The WeChat official account "Kangbashi Release" reported that at the conference, it was proposed to combine the decisions and deployment of the CPC Central Committee with the actual situation of the local department, anchor the goal and task of "comprehensive development and single champion" determined by Kangbashi District at the beginning of the year, follow the working idea of "learning from Zibo in the future, learning from Zibo in the near future", combine the actual situation of Kangbashi, lead the development with ideological change, establish a clear direction of "heroes based on achievements", and make every effort to promote the economic and social development of Kangbashi with practical measures to achieve new results.
On the same day, the 11th meeting of the Standing Committee of the 2nd Kangbashi District People's Congress was held. The meeting emphasized the need to closely follow the decision-making and deployment of the district committee, accurately benchmark the experience and practices of advanced domestic regions such as Xiong'an and Zibo, continuously improve the ability to focus on development, promote reform, benefit people's livelihoods, increase unity, and ensure security, and use practical achievements to add impetus to the modernization construction of the entire region.
Kangbashi, meaning "outstanding teacher" in Mongolian, is the political, cultural, and educational center of Ordos. The district started construction in 2002 and was approved by the State Council to establish a county-level Kangbashi District in June 2016. It has 4 street offices and 19 communities, with a total area of 372.55 square kilometers and a built-up area of 38.42 square kilometers. As of the end of 2022, the permanent population of Kangbashi District was 124500, with a current population of 153000.
