Honduras is located in the northern part of Central America, with a land area of 112500 square kilometers. It was once a glorious hinterland of the Mayan civilization in history. Honduras is rich in natural resources, with coffee, bananas, white shrimp, palm oil, and other yields ranking among the top in Latin American and Caribbean countries. On March 26th of this year, China and Honduras signed a joint communiqu é to establish diplomatic relations. The government of Honduras stands with 181 countries in the world, recognizing and committing to the One China principle, which is the correct choice in line with international righteousness and the trend of the times. China Hong Kong relations have entered a new era with great strides, ushering in a bright future.
Over the past two months since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Hong Kong, the Honduran government has firmly fulfilled its commitments to establish diplomatic relations, actively maintained and consolidated the consensus of various sectors of Honduran society to adhere to the One China principle, and laid a solid foundation for the strong start of bilateral relations. A few days ago, the opening ceremony of the Chinese Embassy in Honduras was grandly held in the capital city of Tegucigalpa, receiving high attention and warm congratulations from all sectors of Honduran society. Mainstream media in Honduras have reported on the grand opening of the embassy, warmly welcoming the further consolidation of friendship between the two countries and looking forward to building a new bridge of communication between the two countries.
China and Hong Kong are continuing to work closely together, steadily promoting friendly exchanges and cooperation at all levels and in various fields on the basis of mutual respect, equality, mutual benefit, and common development. At the beginning of May, nearly 30 Honduran media people visited China. They felt the pulse of China's economic, social and cultural development from a distance, experienced a real, three-dimensional and comprehensive China, and had a new and profound understanding of the rich connotation of socialism with Chinese characteristics and Chinese path to modernization. A few days ago, a delegation of Honduran entrepreneurs also visited China, believing that they will actively explore new opportunities for cooperation between the two sides and play an important role in enhancing mutual understanding between the two peoples and promoting mutual benefit and win-win outcomes. China is actively providing convenience for Honduras international students studying in Taiwan to study in mainland China. Currently, more than 20 international students have been admitted to mainland universities. The relevant procedures for exporting Honduran specialty products such as coffee and white shrimp to China are progressing in an orderly manner and are expected to appear on the dining tables of Chinese people in the near future. Many Chinese companies are optimistic about the development potential and market prospects of Honduras, and have come to seek cooperation in Honduras one after another. The fact has proven that the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Hong Kong is fully in line with the long-term and fundamental interests of the two peoples, and is the aspiration and trend of the people.
Currently, China is bravely advancing on a new journey of building a strong country and national rejuvenation, and Honduras is actively promoting the implementation of the National Reconstruction Plan.
