Joint release of monkeypox prevention and control plan by two departments to enhance scientific, precise, and effective prevention and control report | Scientific | Plan improvement
CCTV News: Since June this year, multiple provinces in China have reported multiple cases of monkeypox. In order to improve the scientific, accurate, and effective prevention and control of monkeypox, the National Bureau of Disease Control and Prevention, together with the National Health Commission, recently formulated and released the "Monkeypox Prevention and Control Plan".
The Monkeypox Prevention and Control Plan clearly states that in the prevention and control of monkeypox, the principle of "prevention first, combined prevention and control, precise prevention and control, and rapid disposal" should be adhered to, and measures of "early detection, early reporting, early isolation, and early treatment" should be implemented. Persist in discovering and controlling together, and timely block the spread of the epidemic. Various regions should carry out publicity, education, and intervention. Carry out targeted publicity and education for different risk groups such as key populations, entry-exit personnel, and general populations, and strengthen risk prevention awareness and self-protection measures for different groups of people. Implement multi-channel monitoring of monkeypox, including monitoring of medical institutions, key populations, and inbound personnel. Areas with conditions can implement sewage monitoring in key locations according to the epidemic situation to ensure early detection and timely disposal of the epidemic. Various regions should strengthen emergency response to the epidemic. Timely transportation and diagnosis of suspected and confirmed cases of monkeypox, monitoring, tracking, and managing close contacts, identifying potential epidemic risks in a timely manner, disinfecting contaminated environments and surfaces, and quickly curbing the spread of the epidemic. Classify and implement personnel training. Strengthen training for disease control institutions and medical professionals at all levels, enhance the awareness of medical staff in the diagnosis and treatment of monkeypox, and enhance the epidemic prevention and emergency response capabilities of disease control personnel. Meanwhile, in the process of monkeypox epidemic prevention and control, various regions should pay attention to protecting the personal privacy of cases, close contacts, and key populations.
