Conduct non-public defense exercises
According to a report by Yonhap News Agency on the 7th, the South Korean military revealed on the same day that it had conducted a defense exercise in Dokdo in a non-public form at the end of last month. According to Yonhap News Agency, the exercise was conducted by the South Korean Navy and Coast Guard vessels, and the scale of the participating forces was basically the same as last year. This is the third defense exercise held by South Korea on Dokdo since the establishment of the Yoon Seok yeol government.
However, since the establishment of the Yin Xiyue government, fighter jets and landing forces have not participated in military exercises.
Some analysts believe that this reflects the South Korean government's active attitude towards improving relations with Japan.
Japan strongly protests
Calling South Korean military exercises "unacceptable"
On the 7th, the website of the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a protest statement, stating that after learning about the South Korean military's military exercises, they immediately lodged a "strong protest" with the South Korean side through diplomatic channels, and stated that "Takeshima is Japan's inherent territory" and that the South Korean military exercises are "completely unacceptable".

Dokdo is located in the eastern waters of the Korean Peninsula, with an area of approximately 0.18 square kilometers. South Korea, North Korea, and Japan all claim sovereignty over the island.
Currently, South Korea has actual control over this island. The South Korean military and maritime police have been conducting defense training on Dokdo since 1986, and have held it once in the first and second half of 2003.
