On May 17th, the online police in Suzhou, Anhui Province, discovered that a netizen posted on a certain platform claiming to be suffering from campus violence, but the school ignored it.
The netizen also claimed that there have been multiple incidents of campus bullying and scheduled fights in the past six months at the school, and even students fighting in dormitories and being stabbed with knives. The school did not take action, but in the end, police cars took people away for processing. The related remarks quickly attracted social attention.
The Suzhou online police immediately conducted a visit and investigation, and through reviewing and retrieving the records of receiving and handling police, as well as visiting the personnel and school teachers mentioned in the post, no incidents of campus bullying or fighting injuries were found.
The online police quickly found the rumor publisher Cheng, who admitted to having conflicts with his classmates and harboring a grudge. In order to gain sympathy and exert pressure on his classmates, Cheng deliberately fabricated facts and posted them online.
According to Article 25, Paragraph 1 of the Law of the People's Republic of China on Public Security Administration Punishments, the Yongqiao Public Security Bureau imposed administrative penalties on Cheng.
College students stab their roommates to death?
On May 10th, a "campus prank" message spread on social media platforms, even forming a Weibo topic.
A student from a certain university in Lanzhou was stabbed to death and injured by a roommate who had been resentful for failing to submit their paper for review. Now, the family of the deceased is gathering at the north gate of the school to cause trouble.
The news has spread and spread in multiple WeChat groups, and then netizens sent screenshots of group chats to Sina Weibo, with a total of more than 10000 people reading it.
Lanzhou Internet police attach great importance to this information and immediately conduct multi-party verification. During on-site investigations and visits, it was found that there were no cases of students killing or injuring others at the university, and this information is false rumors.
On May 11th, the Chengguan Branch arrested Chen, Jiang, Pan, Liu, and Mao. After interrogation, Chen expressed curiosity when he saw a crowd gathering at the school gate. He took photos without approaching to inquire about the reason, and used the photos to fabricate and spread information about students poking people in order to gain attention.
At the same time, Jiang and four others confessed to their illegal behavior of spreading rumors along with him.
Given that this false information has been widely spread through group chat and social media, and has been viewed and forwarded by multiple people, it has had a negative impact on network order and the reputation of the school.
On May 12th, the Chengguan Branch of Lanzhou Public Security Bureau, in accordance with Article 25, Paragraph 1 of the Law of the People's Republic of China on Public Security Administration Punishments, imposed an administrative fine on four individuals, including Chen and Jiang, for 7 days of administrative detention.
Did a third year girl get stabbed 13 times?
On May 24th, the security police in Huanggang, Hubei Province discovered that netizen "Cangmang27" posted a message on a certain information platform stating:
Campus security issues are very serious now
This morning
A girl from a middle school in Huanggang, Grade 1 and Grade 3
Stabbed 13 times by another student on campus
Life and death unknown
After multiple verifications, no relevant police incidents have occurred at the school, and this information is a rumor.
After the rumor spreading man Qi arrived at the scene, he confessed that while passing by a middle school in Huangzhou District on his way to work that day, he found that a warning line had been set up at the entrance of the teaching building, believing that there was a safety issue on the campus.
Subsequently, he fabricated facts and spread rumors on his account that a junior high school girl was stabbed 13 times.
In order to gain attention by riding on the heat, he also posted the rumor in a hot news report related to campus safety accidents and interacted with some netizens, causing negative effects.
According to the Law of the People's Republic of China on Public Security Administration Punishments, the Huanggang Economic Development Zone Branch has imposed an administrative detention of three days on the offender, Qi.
The above cases, taking advantage of the public's concern for student and campus safety, subjectively and intentionally spread rumors, have a negative impact.
