The scoring section of the college entrance examination is approaching
Some scammers are also eager to act
Police remind again
These college entrance exam scams
Parents and classmates must be vigilant
Beware of being deceived!
Scam One: Modifying Grades
Fraud methods:
After the college entrance examination, scammers take advantage of the restless emotions of their parents to commit crimes, claiming that there are channels to modify scores, sell them at low prices, pay confidentiality fees, or send Trojan links through text messages, fill in the candidate's identity information, bank card number, SMS verification code, and other methods to commit fraud.
Police reminder:
When candidates and their families check their scores, they should identify the search method and website designated by the education department, and not easily click on links with unknown origins in mobile phone messages, let alone enter information.
Once the results are announced, the dust will settle. Candidates who have objections to their own results can review the test paper through official channels, but directly modifying the results is definitely impossible. Criminals seize the eager psychology of candidates to study and set up scams, do not fall for it.
Scam 2: "Early Admission"
Fraud methods:
The fraudster impersonated the admissions office of a certain university and called the victim, claiming that due to early enrollment by the university, the victim's admission status was "free to apply". If they want to be admitted by the school, they need to pay tuition fees in advance, otherwise there is a risk of being rejected and unable to be admitted. The victim was intimidated and thus deceived.
Police reminder:
Early batch admission is mainly aimed at candidates from military, national defense, and art colleges. All admission work is carried out through remote online admission from different locations, and is submitted by a specialized computer system according to preferences and admission rules, without being affected by any human factors. Any phone or text messages received under the pretext of enrollment are not trustworthy. Candidates can check their admission information through the official website of the Education Examination Institute, and should not seek medical treatment in a hurry to avoid being deceived.
Scam Three: "Internal Indicators"
Fraud methods:
The fraudster impersonated the director of the enrollment office of a certain military academy and called, claiming that the school has "internal enrollment targets". If the victim's child wants to attend the military academy, they must first pay a deposit. To dispel the victim's concerns, the fraudster also showed the victim a fake school enrollment document through QQ or WeChat. The victim believed it deeply and immediately paid the deposit, thus being deceived.
Police reminder:
Military academies, like other local universities, have strict procedures and regulations for enrollment. There is no such thing as "internal enrollment quotas" in military academies, and payment is the purpose of fraud. Candidates and parents should not be deceived.
Scam Four: "Help Handle" Art Admissions
Fraud methods:
There are various types of art admissions, and the sorting rules and operating procedures for admission are complex. In addition, the art admissions plan outside the province needs to be adjusted nationwide based on the situation of the student source, making the admission duration longer. Scammers seize the urgent mentality of candidates and parents, taking advantage of the long duration of admission, claiming that as long as payment is made, they can operate to "help solve it", or threaten candidates and parents with "no payment, no admission" or "no payment, no refund", achieving the goal of defrauding money.
Police reminder:
Art admissions have strict requirements such as score lines and unified admission procedures. Candidates can check admission information through the official website of the Education Examination Institute to avoid being deceived.
Scam 5: Confusing the Forms of Higher Education
Fraud methods:
The fraudster deliberately confuses the differences between online education, adult education, and regular higher education, claiming that as long as they pay, they can go to university, or even key universities. Only after enrollment did I realize that I was not studying undergraduate or vocational education at all, but rather self-study exams, adult education, and other forms of education.
Police reminder:
There are various forms of higher education, including online education, adult education, and self-study exams. However, unlike regular higher education, the admission threshold is relatively low. Scammers are most likely to brush the edge on this issue. After receiving the admission notice, candidates and parents must verify the admission information through official channels, confirm the type of enrollment of the university, and avoid being deceived.
Scam 6: Counterfeiting Education Department Staff to Scam
Fraud methods:
Criminals obtain the identity information of candidates through illegal means, impersonate education department staff and other identities, and fraudulently obtain deposits or transaction fees on the grounds of meeting the qualifications of "scholarships" or "college entrance examination subsidies".
Police reminder:
When receiving phone calls or messages from personnel claiming to work in universities, education, finance, etc., requesting the distribution of "national student aid", "refund of compulsory education fees", and "student assistance funds", candidates and parents should proactively contact the local education department or school for verification. Do not disclose family members' names, phone numbers, occupations, and other related information casually, and insist on not disclosing, believing, or transferring funds.
