Is it rumored online that the supplier's payment has been withheld? Changan Automobile's Latest Response to Automobile | Letter | Payment
Recently, a letter of appeal from Changan Automobile Procurement Department to protect small and medium-sized automobile spare parts physical enterprises was circulated online. The letter stated that Changan Automobile Procurement Department sent a letter to hundreds of suppliers on March 28, notifying them to deduct 10% of their payment in order to cope with the unsold car models in the automotive market caused by some car companies lowering prices.
It is worth noting that the above-mentioned letter has neither signature nor time, and is only a picture. The reporter contacted several parts suppliers to Changan Automobile, and they all stated that they have not received any letter from Changan Automobile directly withholding payment.
On June 7th, Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd. issued a statement stating that the company had noticed the above-mentioned letter circulating online, but Changan Automobile had never received any "letters" from suppliers.
Changan Automobile also stated in a statement that it is a consistent practice in the automotive industry for upstream and downstream enterprises in the supply chain to negotiate supply prices annually due to changes in raw material prices, demand, technological innovation, and other reasons. The methods used are all based on business negotiations between Changan Automobile and spare parts enterprises, and the settlement prices are executed according to the business contracts signed after the negotiations. The contents such as "direct deduction of production value" and "direct deduction of payment" stated in this letter are false information.
In addition, Changan Automobile has reported to the public security organs the defamation of goodwill involved in this letter, and the public security organs are further investigating and handling it. Changan Automobile will take corresponding measures based on the subsequent investigation and reserves the right to seek legal action.
