Is a full journey ticket to Hong Kong's high-speed rail more expensive than the total number of segmented tickets? 12306: Cross border trains cannot purchase Hong Kong tickets in sections | Ticket price | Section tickets
Is the full fare for the same high-speed train to Hong Kong more expensive than the total segmented fare? Recently, many cities in mainland China have opened high-speed trains to Hong Kong. Some netizens have questioned the 12306 software, which shows that the full fare of the same high-speed train to Hong Kong is higher than the total fare of segmented tickets divided by Shenzhen North. The reporter found that the full fare for each seat on the high-speed rail to Hong Kong in Wuhan, Chongqing, and Guangzhou is higher than the total fare for segmented tickets with Shenzhen North Station as the boundary for the same train. Taking the starting station Wuhan as an example, the full fare for the G79 second-class seat on the train from Wuhan to West Kowloon, Hong Kong is 678.5 yuan, while the fare for the second-class seat from Wuhan to Shenzhen North is 538 yuan, and the fare for the second-class seat from Shenzhen North to West Kowloon, Hong Kong is 75 yuan. The full fare is 65.5 yuan higher than the total fare for the segment. Regarding this, 12306 customer service told Red Star News that ticket prices are calculated using formulas based on multiple factors such as mileage, and the railway department strictly follows relevant formulas for pricing. Some customer service representatives also stated that cross-border trains do not support extended travel intervals and cannot be purchased at a lower price for the same train segment. Some netizens who frequently travel to and from Hong Kong have expressed that due to the high number of trains between Hong Kong and Shenzhen, they often transfer at Shenzhen North Station to save costs and choose other train services for their next journey.
