Is 2/3 of a drink ice cubes? The latest initiatives such as the China Consumers Association!
According to media reports, a consumer recently found that the ice content in a well-known beverage store accounts for two-thirds of the total amount of drinks, and excessive ice content leads to a poorer drinking experience. Some consumers have also reported that some beverages only have "ice" as the temperature option on their mobile ordering page, and some beverage stores even refuse consumers' requests for "de icing" beverages.
A reporter from China Consumers magazine investigated the situation of adding ice to beverages and conducted consumer experiences with well-known cold drink brands in commercial districts such as Xidan, Chaoyang Joy City, Guomao, and Xisanqi in Beijing. Experience has found that firstly, catering operators lack a unified standard for ice volume, and even different stores of the same brand have different standards for normal ice. The second reason is that the size and shape of ice cubes vary among catering operators, and some drinks may have flat or hollow ice cubes, so the amount of ice added cannot be simply measured by the number of ice cubes.
The China Consumers Association and the China Business Enterprise Management Association hereby advocate that catering operators:
1、 Respect consumers' right to know. Article 8 of the Consumer Rights and Interests Protection Law of the People's Republic of China stipulates that "consumers have the right to know the true situation of the goods or services they purchase or use.". Consumers have the right to be aware of any situation or information directly related to correct judgment, selection, or use during the process of purchasing, using goods, or receiving services, and operators should provide it. When consumers purchase beverages, catering operators should proactively inquire whether they need to add ice and how much ice to add. If there are indeed situations where the beverage cannot be de chilled or the beverage is a specific combination of ice and ingredients, the catering operator should clearly indicate on the ordering page or remind consumers to pay attention when ordering.

2、 Respect consumers' right to make independent choices. Article 9 of the Consumer Rights and Interests Protection Law of the People's Republic of China stipulates that "consumers have the right to independently choose goods or services.". Consumers can only truly satisfy their consumption needs by deciding whether to consume, what to consume, and how to consume according to their personal wishes. Catering operators should provide consumers with personalized options such as "more ice," "normal ice," "less ice," and "de ice," or adjust the amount of ice added through notes based on their actual needs, for consumers to choose independently. Alternatively, they can separate the drink from ice and let consumers decide whether to add ice and how much ice to add.
3、 Respect the fair trading rights of consumers. Article 10 of the Consumer Rights and Interests Protection Law of the People's Republic of China stipulates that "consumers have the right to fair transactions.". Implementing consumers' right to fair trading requires operators engaged in trading activities to operate in compliance with the law and integrity, with a sense of responsibility and responsibility, and a business philosophy of meeting consumer needs to ensure stable and healthy market development. When consumers purchase beverages, they default to purchasing beverages rather than ice. Catering operators can prominently display the right of customers to request their drinks to be served without ice on ordering tables, advertising flyers, and food images. If consumers question the capacity for adding ice, catering operators should provide timely and positive responses.
Netizens agree and support this.
"Shaobing is particularly humanized," "I hope they can really improve.".
