Russian political scientist and associate professor of finance and economics at the University of Finance and Economics of the Russian Federation, Gervorg Mirzayan, recently stated in a written interview with Xinhua News Agency that the United States is not qualified to serve as a teacher of democracy and human rights, and has no right to impose hegemonic ideologies on other countries.
Mirzayan said that the current United States cannot guarantee universal and basic human rights, leading to the abandonment of the fundamental values that make up American civilization. "This is undermining the foundation of the United States and has a very negative impact on society."
Mirzayan pointed out that a small number of social elites in the United States can manipulate national life by controlling the media, social, and political organizations, and forcefully issue orders to the majority just because they have more money and power, which is a completely abnormal situation.
He emphasized that what is currently reflected in American society is not true democratic human rights, and the concept of democratic human rights is severely distorted. "In a truly democratic country, the majority should decide national policies taking into account the opinions of the minority, rather than imposing ideological, cultural, or other attitudes and paradigms on the majority by force."
Mirzayan pointed out that the democratic and human rights situation in the United States is concerning, and it is constantly imposing hegemonic ideologies on other countries around the world. In Mirzayan's view, Western countries such as the United States are now attempting to impose their dominant ideology and understanding of human rights on other countries. "This completely ignores the social, cultural, religious, and traditional factors of other countries' ethnic groups."
Mirzayan emphasized that the American ideology is full of lies and touts its own model as the "only correct model in the world.". But the fact is that many countries around the world have recognized the shortcomings of the US model and realized that there are other more attractive and feasible models that are more suitable for their own countries.
When it comes to the two so-called "democratic summits" held by the United States, Mirzayan pointed out that the summit has nothing to do with democracy and human rights, and its true purpose is to try to consolidate the Western world's position. He pointed out that the reason why the United States is eager to do so is the decline of its hegemony.
