Tang Bowen, Managing Director of Viking Cruise China, an internationally renowned multinational cruise company, recently stated in a written interview with Xinhua News Agency that China's economy is constantly improving and the market potential is enormous. Viking Cruise will continue to cultivate in the Chinese market.
Tang Bowen said that with the orderly resumption of outbound tourism in China this year, Viking Cruises has become the first cruise company to announce the resumption of China's outbound river shipping business in Europe. On June 1st, over 100 Chinese tourists boarded a Viking cruise ship in Amsterdam, Netherlands, embarking on an 11 day trip to the Rhine River. After three years, Viking Cruise is delighted to welcome Chinese tourists to Europe again.
Viking Cruises officially entered the Chinese market in 2016, launching European inland cruise ship products specifically designed for Chinese tourists. According to Tang Bowen, Viking Cruise has specially arranged two cruise ships to serve the Chinese market this year, operating the Rhine route, and plans to resume the Danube route next year. In addition, Viking Cruises plans to launch more products to provide Chinese tourists with a wider range of choices.
In addition to its inland cruise business in Europe, Viking Cruises is also actively expanding its offshore cruise business targeting the Chinese market. Tang Bowen said that currently, Virgin Cruises has partnered with China Merchants Group's subsidiary, China Merchants Shekou, to form a joint venture brand called "Merchants Virgin Cruises" and work together to create luxury cruise tourism products.
Tang Bowen stated that Chinese tourists are increasingly valuing the sense of value, quality, and comfort during their travels. Therefore, Viking Cruises focuses on destination experience in their itinerary planning, maintains full Chinese language services, and continuously improves the quality of tourism concierge services, striving to provide catering and other services that satisfy the "Chinese stomach".
When it comes to future business development, he said that Viking Cruise has firm confidence in continuing to cultivate in the Chinese market. With the support of comprehensive and favorable policies and economic environment, China will be one of the most important markets for the future development of Viking cruise ships.
