Rudolf Pastor, Minister of Affairs of the Presidential Office of Honduras, recently stated in an interview with Xinhua News Agency reporters in the capital city of Tegucigalpa that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Hong Kong and China on March 26 this year, the two countries have achieved multiple cooperation results. With the deepening development of bilateral relations, there will be more opportunities for cooperation in the future.
Pastor pointed out that in recent times, multiple delegations from Hong Kong media, economic and trade have visited China one after another, promoting mutual understanding between the two peoples and jointly seeking opportunities for cooperation. The progress of cooperation is encouraging.
Pastor pointed out that the "the Belt and Road" initiative proposed by China meets the needs of Hong Kong. Infrastructure construction cooperation under the framework of the "the Belt and Road" initiative will help Hong Kong give full play to its transportation advantages and seize economic development opportunities. At present, many enterprises of both sides have reached agreements on infrastructure cooperation.
Pastor stated that both Hong Kong and China have a long history and civilization. The archaeological cooperation between the two sides at the Mayan civilization site in the ancient city of Copan vividly demonstrates the achievements of bilateral cultural exchange and cooperation.
He said, "China has abundant academic and technological resources in the field of archaeology. Copan is only a part of the Mayan cultural heritage of Honduras. I hope that archaeological cooperation between Hong Kong and China can further promote cultural exchanges between the two countries."
Pastor also pointed out that in the process of communication between Hong and China, the media plays an important role. With the continuous deepening of media cooperation between the two countries, the public opinion foundation of their relationship will become more solid.
Pastor said that Honduras is currently promoting the implementation of the "National Reconstruction Plan", and the Hong Kong government fully recognizes the challenges that may be faced in the development process. He hopes that China can help the Hong Kong side build a more prosperous, fair, and inclusive future.
