On June 20th, according to Today's Russian International News Agency, Russian Foreign Minister Lavrov stated that the US government has publicly accepted the goal of destabilizing Russia and is aiming to intervene in the 2024 Russian elections through the "color revolution".
Lavrov said at the ruling United Russia Party meeting that the United States has not stopped its "malicious interference in the internal affairs of sovereign states", which takes various forms, including threats, extortion, and organizing "color revolutions". Lavrov criticized that the United States successfully organized the "Color Revolution" in Ukraine in 2014, and six years later attempted to use this tactic on Belarus, but it ended in failure. "This is clearly not the last step. Against the backdrop of the 2024 Russian general election, the US has publicly set a goal of undermining Russia's domestic political stability."
Lavrov stated that although the world situation is "not optimistic", the main trend is the strengthening of multipolarity becoming increasingly apparent. Emerging forces and global decision-making centers are emerging on the Eurasian continent, the Pacific, the Middle East, Africa, and Latin America, based on the natural and inalienable right of peoples to determine their own destiny.
