International Sharp Review | Summer Davos They Together Tell a "China Growth Story" Reason | China | Davos They
"I plan to open hundreds of factories in China in the next decade or so." Henrik Stam Christensen from Denmark is the founder of a food technology company. At the 14th Summer Davos Forum, he told the commentator of International Sharp Review that China's huge market and strong logistics system attracted him to come and build a localized production center. And almost every representative of a company who interacts with International Review expressed the idea of exploring the Chinese market.
Danish entrepreneur Henrik Stam Christensen was interviewed by International Review.
The Summer Davos Forum being held in Tianjin has attracted over 1500 political, business, and academic figures from nearly 100 countries and regions to participate. During the communication, many attendees used the term "fragile" to describe the current state of the world economy. The forum takes "Entrepreneurial Spirit: The Driving Force of the World Economy" as the overall theme, and sets "Restarting Growth" as one of the core themes, which has strong practical relevance and reflects people's strong desire.
To grow, one must have momentum. Where does this kinetic energy come from? As the world's second-largest economy and the world's largest in total goods trade for six consecutive years, China has naturally become a major focus of people's attention. In the past decade, the average annual growth rate of the Chinese economy has reached 6.2%, contributing an average of over 30% to global economic growth, becoming the largest engine driving global economic growth. Borg Brender, President of the World Economic Forum, said in an interview that China's economic growth rate is higher than the overall global economy, and this year the contribution rate of China's economy to world economic growth may reach 36%.
"How can we miss such a market?" Several attendees told International Sharp Review. They believe that China's economic growth has a strong endogenous driving force. Alex Zavorokov, a representative of the Canadian business community, told the International Review commentator that China's efficient governance level and targeted policy measures will help "maintain growth in various fields.". At the same time, representatives are also optimistic about China's consumer market, stable growth and anti inflation ability, and innovation level.
On the first day of the summer in Davos, the "China Green Hydrogen Energy Development Roadmap" report was released. The report lists 35 measures that China has launched to achieve carbon peak before 2030, taking the global zero carbon transformation one step forward. In 2022, China's global innovation index ranking rose to 11th place, ranking first among middle-income economies. With China's promotion of high-quality development and in-depth implementation of the innovation driven development strategy, more new drivers of economic growth will be unleashed.

For global enterprises, China is not just a "beautiful growth story", but also a win-win opportunity. In 2019, Alex Zavorokov moved his company headquarters to China because he was interested in the high-end technical talents and research achievement transformation capabilities here. From conducting economic and trade exchanges, to promoting technological cooperation, and then to seeking "co creation", more and more global enterprises are turning their attention to China.
The "Spring River Water Warmth Duck Prophet" has the sharpest sense of market for enterprises. Although there are some voices in the West urging China to "decouple" and "de risk", the statements of business representatives on the forum indicate that if this is equivalent to "de cooperation" and "de opportunity", it goes against economic laws and is unacceptable. In today's highly globalized world, non development and non cooperation are the real risks. The World Economic Forum predicts that if the world falls into decoupling, it will lose up to 7% to 9% of global GDP. Christensen believes that what businesses truly need is dialogue, understanding, and cooperation.
Now, China is continuously expanding its opening-up to the outside world, allowing the world to share the cake. With China further relaxing market access in areas such as modern service industry, expanding institutional openness, and increasing intellectual property protection, various types of enterprises will receive greater support for their development. In the second half of the year, the "the Belt and Road" International Cooperation Summit Forum, China International Import Expo, etc. will be held, and the first China International Supply Chain Promotion Expo will also be held... Alex believes that China has always been doing something "good for everyone".
"The more you come to China, the more you can feel its bright prospects," said Polish business representative Paulina Mazurek of this trip to China. For global businesses, the 14th Summer Davos is not only a journey of confidence, but also a journey of consensus and action. As China promotes Chinese path to modernization, the world will share more cooperation opportunities. As Borg Brender said, "The story is still ongoing.".
