Inspiring students to dream of green and low-carbon technology, academicians enter the small lecture hall
On the first day of school, students from Tangzhen Middle School can hear science popularization lectures from academicians on campus, which makes them very excited. Recently, the People's Government of Tang Town, in collaboration with the Pudong Academician Activity Center, launched the "Academician Enters the Small Lecture Hall" activity, inviting Academician Xiong Jian to give a science popularization lecture to the students.
It is reported that the "Academician Enters the Lecture Hall" is a youth science popularization education activity launched by the Tang Town Party Committee and Government during the process of civilization creation, aiming to vigorously promote the spirit of scientists and cultivate new generations who are responsible for national rejuvenation. As a local junior high school with a hundred years of history, Tangzhen Middle School has long integrated the cultivation of science and technology interests and scientific concepts throughout education. The school not only has characteristic science laboratories, but also wind power generation facilities.
Academician Xiong Jian is the creator of the theory of "unbalanced working condition balance system" for net zero carbon building energy supply. On that day, he delivered a lecture to the students with the theme of "New Energy Carbon Neutrality and the Future of Humanity". He popularized scientific and technological concepts such as green ecology, carbon neutrality, and the use of new energy through simple explanations and interactive Q&A with students, planting the seeds of science in their hearts and inspiring their interest in green and low-carbon technology.
Sixth grade freshman Ge Manqi said that during the lecture, she further understood concepts such as "carbon neutrality", "hydrogen storage", and "heat island effect". She believes that scientists are very great and constantly create new technologies to protect the living environment and reduce pollution. "In order to prevent the Earth's temperature from rising so quickly, we need to reduce carbon dioxide emissions. We can use more green energy, such as wind and solar power, to protect the environment and protect the Earth to the best of our ability."
Eighth grade student Yao Yutian put forward more suggestions, including not using disposable tableware, taking more public transportation, controlling the air conditioning temperature to 26 degrees Celsius in summer, and calling on everyone to take action together to protect the Earth shared by humanity.
Since the beginning of this year, the Party Committee and Government of Tang Town have continuously strengthened science popularization education and moral education for young people in the region by providing resources to schools and carrying out various civilized practice activities, hoping to promote the improvement of residents' cultural literacy and social civilization level.
