On August 16th, some netizens reported that Air China Flight CA1557 was originally scheduled to fly from Beijing to Shanghai, but ultimately landed at Kansai International Airport in Japan.
A Red Star News reporter found that the Air Travel Zongheng APP showed that the flight was originally scheduled to depart from Beijing Capital Airport T3 at 11:30 on August 16th and arrive at Shanghai Hongqiao Airport at 13:50. However, the flight has been cancelled on August 16th.

On August 16th, Air China customer service stated that through the system, it was found that the flight on August 16th was cancelled due to Air China reasons, and no flight to Japan was found.
According to Li Hanming, a civil aviation industry insider, this incident should have been an accidental occurrence. "The CA927 flight from Capital Airport to Osaka, Japan was cancelled yesterday due to unforeseen circumstances. Therefore, a replacement flight of the same model will be arranged today to transport passengers over. It is possible that Air China has arranged a flight originally planned to fly to Shanghai Hongqiao Airport, but the flight number is still CA1557 to Hongqiao, which has led some websites to believe that this flight made an alternate landing in Kansai while flying to Hongqiao. In fact, if you check Air China's official website, CA1557 on the 16th was cancelled."
