Reporters learned from the Ministry of Ecology and Environment on the 19th that the accountability of the second round of central ecological environmental protection supervision and handover was made public in Hebei, Jiangsu, Inner Mongolia, Xizang, Xinjiang and the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps. At this point, the second round of accountability for the transfer of central ecological and environmental protection inspections has been fully completed, with more than 3300 people being held accountable.
From May 2020 to June 2022, the second round of central ecological and environmental protection inspection team completed six batches of inspections and feedback on 31 provinces and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, as well as six central enterprises including China Minmetals Group, China Chemical Group, China Building Materials Group, China Aluminum Group, China Gold Group, and China Nonferrous Metals Group. 158 accountability issues were simultaneously transferred.
After summary and analysis, a total of 3035 people were held accountable for the 135 accountability issues transferred by the 31 provinces and Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps, including 371 department level cadres and 1244 department level cadres; Among them, 1509 people were given disciplinary and administrative sanctions, 782 were admonished, and 744 others were dealt with.
The State owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council and six central enterprises have held a total of 336 people accountable for the 23 accountability issues transferred by inspections. Among them, 183 people were given disciplinary and administrative sanctions, 63 people were admonished, and 90 others were dealt with.
The relevant person in charge of the Central Ecological and Environmental Protection Supervision Office stated that strict accountability is an inherent requirement of ecological and environmental protection supervision, and it is also an effective means to promote supervision and rectification work and solve ecological and environmental problems. Overall, the accountability work for the second round of inspection transfer issues focuses on investigating the main responsibility, supervisory responsibility, and leadership responsibility of leading cadres, and plays a positive role in implementing the dual responsibility of the Party and government for ecological environment protection and promoting inspection and rectification work.
Supervision and rectification is an important part of ecological and environmental protection supervision, and is an important indicator of the effectiveness of inspection work. The reporter learned that as of May 2023, the first round of inspections identified 3294 rectification tasks, with an overall completion rate of over 97%. The second round of inspections identified 2164 rectification tasks, which were 61% completed.
