In the first half of the year, the total electricity consumption in society increased by 5% year-on-year
On the 13th, it was learned from the National Energy Administration that in June, the total electricity consumption in society was 775.1 billion kilowatt hours, a year-on-year increase of 3.9%. From January to June, the total electricity consumption of the whole society reached 4307.6 billion kilowatt hours, a year-on-year increase of 5%. The electricity consumption of the first, second, and third industries increased by 12.1%, 4.4%, and 9.9% year-on-year, respectively; The daily electricity consumption of urban and rural residents increased by 1.3% year-on-year.
Since the beginning of this year, there has been a significant increase in residents going out for dining, shopping, tourism, and accommodation, and the contact based clustering service industry has continued to improve, driving the industry's electricity consumption to grow rapidly. For example, data from Southern Power Grid shows that in the first half of the year, the contribution rate of the tertiary industry to the overall social electricity consumption growth in the five southern provinces and regions reached nearly 40%.
At the same time, with the deepening of high-end, intelligent, and green manufacturing, innovation and development vitality are constantly being released, and the electricity consumption of related industries is also increasing. In the first half of the year, the electricity consumption in the charging and swapping service industry, wind power equipment manufacturing, photovoltaic equipment and component manufacturing in the five southern provinces and regions increased by 69.6%, 47.1%, and 45.7% year-on-year, respectively. The electricity consumption in the electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing industry, as well as the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry, all increased by more than 10% year-on-year.
Currently, it is the peak summer season, with continuous high temperatures in many areas and electricity demand reaching new highs. Coal, power generation, power grid and other energy enterprises are fully committed to ensuring power supply.
