According to Yonhap News Agency, on July 21st, South Korean police announced that they have received reports of suspicious packages in many places recently, and have begun investigating the situation.
The incident was reported to have occurred in Seoul, Jeju Province, Ota City, and other locations. According to the Seoul Ruicao Police Station and other sources, the police received an alarm on the same day that suspicious packages from Taiwan were being stored at the Ruicao Post Office. Upon inspection, it was found that there were no explosive items inside the package. Similar packages were also found at the Seoul Myeongdong Central Post Office and Enping Post Office in the afternoon of the same day.
In Ulsan City, there have even been cases where multiple recipients of packages have been sent to the hospital due to dizziness after opening them.The package did not contain any items, and the police do not rule out the possibility of personnel inhaling toxic gas. The police are checking the delivery process of the package through the post office.
Multiple similar alarms have also occurred in places such as Xian'an County and Datian City in Gyeongsangnam do, with emails coming from Malaysia, Uzbekistan, and other places.
South Korean police remind the public not to open suspicious packages and immediately report to the police.
