Previously, Wang Yi, a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Director of the Central Foreign Affairs Office, met with him, and State Councilor and Foreign Minister Qin Gang had a lengthy meeting with him.

As the first cabinet member of the Biden government to visit China, Antony Blinken is believed to have the task of reporting to Biden the results of his visit to China and conveying China's position. I hope he can highlight these three points when reporting:

Find the correct way to coexist with mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation

Mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation are consistent principles for China to view and handle Sino US relations, and also the correct way for China and the United States to coexist.

Mutual respect is a prerequisite.

The systems of China and the United States are different and have significant differences, which inevitably leads to differences and frictions. However, this is not a reason for criticism, exclusion, or even suppression, nor is it an excuse to use the mentality of a "teacher master" to dictate and interfere recklessly.

China opposes the arrogant mentality of "starting with strength and status" and advocates that China and the United States respect each other's core interests and major concerns, and respect their respective development rights. China has developed to this day, from standing up and becoming rich to becoming strong. We will never bully the weak, but we also do not tolerate being trampled upon. China, like all countries in the world, including the United States, regards equality as a prerequisite for dialogue.

China respects the interests of the United States and will not challenge or replace it. Similarly, the United States should also respect China and not harm its legitimate rights and interests.

Peaceful coexistence is the bottom line.

The vast Earth can fully accommodate the development and common prosperity of China and the United States.

China has always been committed to exploring the correct way for the two countries to coexist, transcending differences and seeking common interests without changing its original intention. However, the United States has made a strategic misjudgment of viewing China as its "biggest competitor" and constantly challenges China's red line on sensitive issues such as Taiwan.

Against the backdrop of the escalating situation in the Taiwan Strait, the United States not only does not quickly turn the tide, but also frequently causes trouble and sends out incorrect signals. That is also why China emphasizes the bottom line of peaceful coexistence.

The goal is to achieve win-win cooperation.

The Chinese people, like the American people, are both self respecting, confident, and have the right to pursue a better life. The common interests between the two countries should be valued, and their respective successes are opportunities rather than threats to each other.

Even though China US relations are at their lowest point since the establishment of diplomatic relations, China has always aimed for win-win cooperation and believes that if the US moves towards each other, there is still a chance for the two countries to achieve this goal.

There is a rational voice in American society: The Brookings Institution of America released a report in November last year titled "Course Revision of US Policy towards China", stating that the United States must establish a "lasting and productive working relationship" with China. The report states that both the United States and China have many common interests in bilateral, personnel exchanges, and multilateral fields, and the two countries need to cooperate.

The American private sector has more practical actions: Faced with various rhetoric from the US government such as "decoupling and chain breaking" and "risk reduction", well-known American entrepreneurs such as Microsoft founder Bill Gates, Apple CEO Cook, and Tesla CEO Musk have visited China one after another. Their goal is to strengthen cooperation, and their motivation is to achieve win-win results.

Don't say one thing and do another. It doesn't work for Chinese people

For a period of time, Americans have been shouting "maintain open communication channels", "stabilize US China relations", and "responsibly manage US China relations". The response from Chinese people has also been clear: the United States should not say one thing and do another.

Do you still remember President Biden's "four no one" promise made by the US side?

When the promise of the US side was still in the ear, Pelosi, the then President of the House of Representatives of the United States Congress, visited Taiwan, China on August 2, 2022, despite China's strong opposition and solemn negotiations, which seriously violated the one China principle and the provisions of the three Sino US joint communiqu é s, seriously impacted the political foundation of Sino US relations, and gave the world good reason to believe that the US side's statement was strategic deception.

Does China support communication? Of course we support it, but we cannot communicate for the sake of communication. China does not need the United States to travel thousands of miles to be a "teacher" for China. Communication should be sincere and problem-solving is essential. The United States cannot demand dialogue with China's defense minister and repeatedly provoke China on issues such as the South China Sea, as it did at the Shangri La Dialogue.

Does China support stabilizing China US relations? Of course I support it. However, the so-called "fence" proposed by the United States to stabilize Sino US relations, if compared to a transportation line, is a dotted line on one side that the US can freely collide with and infringe on China's interests.

And the United States has set a solid line for China, attempting to firmly bind China to the so-called "rules" and "order" set by the West, often labeling China as non compliant and creating excuses for interference and suppression of China. This is not a "fence" to stabilize China US relations, but a means to contain and suppress China. Of course, Chinese people do not accept this set of measures.

Many people boil down Antony Blinken's expectations for his visit to China to one word: "cold". Just as the British and American media deliberately filtered the background blue sky of Antony Blinken's arrival in China into gray, the "cold gray" tone of this visit was caused by the Americans.

The United States has resorted to extreme suppression, attack, and containment of China, which has already made the Chinese people see clearly the face of the United States in containing China. Many Chinese people see this as an exposure of the essence of imperialism, and naturally, Chinese people who face the world will not buy it.

Saying beautiful words alone cannot whitewash the image of America

The root cause of the low point in China US relations is that the US holds a wrong understanding of China, leading to incorrect policies towards China.

As pointed out by Chinese Ambassador to the United States Xie Feng, China and the United States have established over 100 dialogue and exchange mechanisms, but they have come to a standstill due to well-known reasons. Just in preparation for the Bali meeting between the leaders of the two countries, China held 8 rounds of over 24 hour consultations with colleagues from the US side. Less than a month after the meeting, the Chinese side invited Kang Dazhuqing and Senior Director Rosenberg to have a 10 hour in-depth communication in Langfang, Hebei. But later, a series of actions by the US disrupted the cooperation agenda and interrupted the dialogue process.

Americans cannot expect their irresponsible actions that undermine the relationship between the two countries to be covered up by their words of "responsible management of US China relations", nor can they package themselves as "good people" who strive to improve US China relations through high-profile propaganda. Beautiful words cannot obscure the relationship between China and the United States, nor can they deceive the international community.

What Chinese people value more, and what the international community is more concerned about, is how the United States will implement the consensus reached during this visit, and what actions the United States will take to correct previous erroneous practices and effectively improve Sino US relations.

Many US officials expressed their wish to visit China, and Antony Blinken opened the door for more colleagues to visit China. But what the United States will do remains to be seen.
