Hungarian Foreign Minister: Such a proposal is a shocking weapon | Ukraine | Foreign Minister
According to TASS on July 20th, the proposal by EU leaders to provide 20 billion euros in military aid to Ukraine within four years will prolong the country's hostile state for several years. This is the viewpoint expressed by Hungarian Foreign Minister Szyardo Peter on the 20th. He was attending a ministerial meeting of the European Union in Brussels at the time.
Seydo said on the same day that the EU's High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, proposed allocating 20 billion euros over four years to fund weapons supplies to Ukraine. During a meeting with Hungarian journalists on the sidelines of the meeting, Sialdo said, "This is simply establishing a military regime that has lasted for many years."
The Hungarian Foreign Minister emphasized, "So, you should not consider the issue of peace now, not only in the short term, but also in the long run."
According to reports, when talking about this ministerial meeting, Seydo said, "To briefly summarize the views expressed in recent hours, I can tell you that they don't really want to talk about peace." "What does the EU say? It will be a zone of war for the next four years."

He said, "This proposal is shocking. The question is, how many people will die in these four years while we spend 20 billion euros to fund arms supplies? And how many Hungarians will die in these four years?"
According to reports, in the view of Siyardo, the experience of the past 500 days has proven that the conflict in Ukraine cannot be resolved on the battlefield, and the more weapons are thrown there, the more victims will be. Seardo said, "Therefore, we are requesting Brussels, Berlin, Paris, and Washington to bring peace to our neighboring country instead of weapons."
Previously, there were reports that as Europe seeks long-term assistance to Ukraine, EU member states are currently discussing the establishment of a new "Ukrainian Defense Fund" to maintain equipment supply to the Ukrainian armed forces for the next four years, with a total funding of 20 billion euros. This special fund will be affiliated with the existing European Peace Financing Mechanism.
