Hundreds of people in New York are protesting against the government's ineffective handling of the immigration crisis. Crowds erupt in conflict and fight back
According to The New York Post, on August 27th local time, hundreds of people in New York held a rally to protest against the government's inadequate handling of the immigration crisis.
At a rally in the Upper East Side of Manhattan, some people shouted loudly outside the official residence of New York City Mayor Adams, "Don't immigrate to Long Island. We pay a lot of property taxes!" Some anti immigrant activists held up signs, warning that "uncensored immigration puts us in danger.".
Former New York City mayoral candidate Curtis Sliva said to the crowd, "These immigrants have cut in. If I were an immigrant, give me a chance to cut in and stay in a hotel, and then give me three sumptuous meals, more than what homeless or veterans in the United States have. This is not right, they will continue to come." Sliva was arrested on the same day, marking the third time in less than two weeks that he has been handcuffed at a protest against immigration.
The report said that more than 20 protesters also appeared at the scene, and they clashed with the protesters. Both sides screamed loudly and punched each other.
