On the afternoon of July 2nd, reporters from Huawei and Celes Securities Times · e Company confirmed the above news and responded. Salis stated that "specific details will be released soon, please stay tuned." Huawei responded promptly to the external interpretation that "Huawei will further strengthen its discourse power on Wenjie", stating that the establishment of a working group is not related to the discourse power of both parties. The overall goal is to improve Wenjie's sales, channel, and service management, and enhance customer experience.
Selis: Detailed rules will be released soon
It is understood that the "AITO Wenjie Sales and Service Joint Working Group" has issued an internal letter to all partners, emphasizing that after reaching the milestone of 100000 mass-produced vehicles offline in 15 months, AITO Wenjie has entered a new stage of transition from 1 to N. In order to support the deeper and closer development of the joint business between Celes Automobile and Huawei, both parties have decided to establish the "AITO Interdisciplinary Sales Service Joint Working Group", responsible for end-to-end closed-loop management of marketing, sales, delivery, service and other businesses.
Seles stated that the establishment of the "Seles&Huawei AITO Joint Working Group on Interdisciplinary Sales and Service" is another milestone event for both sides to deepen cooperation. In the future, with the deep empowerment of both parties, we believe that AITO will continue to drive towards the new "fast lane" of new energy vehicles at a "speed of inquiry". Celes also revealed, "Specific details will be released soon, please stay tuned."
AITO Wenjie is a high-end new energy vehicle brand jointly created by Huawei and Celes. The cooperation between Celes and Huawei adopts Huawei's intelligent vehicle selection model, where Celes is responsible for the entire lifecycle of vehicle experience such as research and development, intelligent manufacturing, and delivery services. Huawei is deeply involved in product definition, vehicle development, and channel sales. Huawei is highly empowered and conducts joint quality control and marketing with Celes.
In 2022, AITO WENJIE delivered over 75000 vehicles, becoming the new energy vehicle brand with the shortest sales time exceeding 10000. However, in the first five months of this year, AITO WENJIE's cumulative sales were 21873 vehicles, with a monthly average of only 4374 vehicles, a decrease of 48.7% compared to last year's monthly average of 8525 vehicles.
On the evening of July 2nd, Selis announced that its sales in June were 18754 units, a year-on-year decrease of 27.04%. Among them, the sales of Selis Automobile in June were 5668 units, a year-on-year decrease of 25.99%. But as of now, Wenjie has not disclosed its sales in June.
In this regard, Selis stated that behind the rapid growth of AITO in the industry is the strong alliance between Selis Automobile and Huawei. In the first half of 2023, the automotive market experienced sudden changes and the industry faced severe challenges. In the second half of the year, AITO Wenjie will launch more new products. The cooperation between SAIC and Huawei has just begun, and AITO will continue to move towards a new "fast lane".
Since the beginning of this year, there have been frequent price reductions in the new energy vehicle market, and industry competition has intensified. Several automotive executives have stated that the new energy vehicle market has entered the knockout stage. For example, Yu Chengdong, CEO of Huawei Terminal BG and CEO of Intelligent Automotive Solutions BU, recently stated in a public speech, "In the future of the new energy vehicle industry, small and medium-sized manufacturers may be merged and restructured by large manufacturers. It is difficult for surviving enterprises to achieve an annual output of less than 5 million or more than 10 million units, making it difficult to establish themselves in this era."
Huawei: Not related to enhancing discourse power
From Huawei's perspective, recently Huawei successfully acquired 21 Wenjie trademarks, including electronic products and scientific instruments, automobiles, and transportation vehicles. The establishment of the "AITO Wenjie Sales and Service Joint Working Group" this time is rumored to be Huawei further strengthening its voice over Wenjie.
In response to this, Huawei responded to reporters that the establishment of the "AITO Wenjie Sales Service Joint Working Group" has nothing to do with the discourse power of both parties. The overall goal is to improve the management of Wenjie sales, channels, and services, and enhance the customer experience of Wenjie.
According to the reporter's understanding, before the establishment of the AITO Wenjie Sales and Service Joint Working Group, Huawei and Celes actually arranged personnel to be responsible for AITO Wenjie sales, services, marketing and other matters. However, with the rapid development of Wenjie and the rapid delivery of vehicles, issues related to AITO Wenjie delivery, services, marketing and other aspects have also emerged. AITO Wenjie has also received complaints from customers about services and other aspects, so improving customer service experience is urgent for AITO Wenjie.
As for the team size of the newly established working group, both parties have stated that they are currently unaware.
In fact, since last year, Huawei has been contemplating the establishment of the Smart Selection Car Ecological Alliance to coordinate the marketing, services, channels, and other aspects of all car brands cooperating with Huawei Smart Selection Cars, facilitating unified management. In addition, it was reported today that Huawei's Smart Selection car business is building car sales stores that are different from the current mobile phone stores, specifically for selling Huawei Smart Selection Car Ecological Alliance models, including the AITO Wenjie series that is currently on sale, as well as planned cooperative models such as Chery, JAC, and Jihu. Regarding this, Huawei officials told reporters that the matters related to the Smart Selection Car Ecological Alliance are still being promoted internally, and there is currently no latest progress.
