After the introduction of Marxism to China, the response and influence of traditional Chinese culture on Marxism has always been a topic of deep concern for the vast number of intellectuals. In 1921, Mr. Liang Shuming's "Eastern and Western Culture and Philosophy" explored the essence of Chinese and Western culture and reflected on the possibility of their integration. During the Anti Japanese War, Xiong Shili's "New Yi Studies", Ma Yifu's "New Jing Studies", Feng Youlan's "New Neo Confucianism", and He Lin's "New Xin Studies" were to some extent a "philosophical response" to Marxism and socialism. In 1935, ten professors from Shanghai jointly issued the "Declaration on Chinese Cultural Construction", proposing the five principles of Chinese cultural construction.
