Chengdu, July 28th (Xinhua) - The Chinese University Student Sports Delegation at the Chengdu Universiade announced on July 28th that Hu Zhenzhuo and Guo Hanyu will serve as flag bearers for the Chinese delegation at the opening ceremony of the 31st Summer Universiade.

Hu Zhenzhuo is a male volleyball athlete currently studying at Tsinghua University. Guo Hanyu is a female tennis athlete currently studying at Southwest University. Both have won national student competition championships and received scholarships at school. Hu Zhenzhuo participated in the Universiade for the first time this time. Guo Hanyu and her partner Ye Qiuyu won the first gold medal in women's doubles tennis for the Chinese university sports delegation at the 2019 Naples Universiade since 2001.

The Chinese university sports delegation for the Chengdu Universiade consists of over 700 people, including over 400 athletes from over 100 universities in 25 provinces across the country, who will compete in all 18 major events, achieving the goal of "full event registration". The average age of the delegation's athletes is 22.9 years old, including 206 male athletes and 205 female athletes. 387 people participated in the World University Summer Games for the first time, 24 people participated in previous Universiades, and 344 people represented their country for the first time in the World Comprehensive Games.
