How does Northeast China respond?, "Dusurai"+"Kanu" Jilin | rainstorm | Kanu
The residual circulation of Typhoon Dussuri has just ended, and the rainfall from Tropical Storm Kanu is affecting the Northeast region. This round of "Kanu" rainfall has affected some areas in the northeast, which highly overlaps with the areas affected by the previous round of rainfall. What challenges will the superposition effect bring to flood control response? What are the responses being made in the Northeast region? In this issue of "News 1+1", Ma Xuedan, the chief forecaster of the Central Meteorological Observatory, and Jiao Yaoxue, the director of the Office of the Flood Control and Drought Relief Command in Heilongjiang Province, were invited to jointly pay attention to "Du Suri" and "Kanu". How should Northeast China respond?
Typhoon "Kanu" will affect Northeast China, and Northeast China will make every effort to prevent it
The Northeast region of China is urgently responding to the new round of rainfall caused by tropical storm Kanu. According to information from the Central Meteorological Observatory, "Kanu" may make landfall on the Liaodong Peninsula on the night of August 11th. In addition to Liaoning, it is worth noting that the area affected by "Kanu" rainfall is highly overlapped with the area where rainstorm and flood disasters occurred in Heilongjiang and Jilin provinces in the earlier period. Dongning City, Shangzhi City in Heilongjiang Province, and Shulan City in Jilin Province have once again launched a new round of rainfall and flood response. Click on the video to watch together.
Typhoon Kanu may make landfall along the coast from Zhuanghe to Donggang on the Liaodong Peninsula
Chief forecaster of the Central Weather Observatory, Ma Xueqian: ① At 8 pm on August 11th, the center of Typhoon No. 6, "Kanu," was located in the northern Yellow Sea, about 80 kilometers south of Dandong, on the sea surface. Its intensity was a tropical storm level, and its cloud structure is currently relatively loose. ② It is expected to continue moving northwest and may land along the coast from Zhuanghe to Donggang in the Liaodong Peninsula around midnight. As the movement progresses, the intensity gradually decreases, and it is expected to decrease to a tropical depression during landfall In fact, before making landfall, Typhoon Kanu's typhoon trough and peripheral cloud system had already caused significant precipitation in the eastern part of Northeast China.
Typhoon "Kanu" will affect the northeast. What is the intensity of the rainstorm it will bring?
Ma Xueqian, chief forecaster of the Central Meteorological Observatory: Since August 10, rainstorm to heavy rainstorm has occurred in the east of Northeast China, especially in the northeast of Jilin and the southeast of Heilongjiang, and the maximum cumulative precipitation has exceeded 160 mm. Although the intensity of "Kanu" is continuously weakening, it carries a large amount of water vapor. The residual circulation of "Kanu" will continue to move northward and combine with the cold air in the north, bringing a relatively strong precipitation process to the northeast region from the 12th to the 13th. There will be some heavy rain or rainstorm in central eastern and southwestern Liaoning, central Jilin and central and western Heilongjiang, and there will be heavy rainstorm locally. The maximum precipitation in Jilin and Heilongjiang is around 100 to 150 millimeters, and it is important to note that there may be over 200 millimeters of precipitation in some areas of central and eastern Liaoning. Due to the location of heavy rainfall in Jilin and Heilongjiang, there is a significant overlap with the previous heavy rainfall, which may have some adverse effects on the current flood control in the Songliao Basin.
Beijing Tianjin Hebei will experience heavy rainfall again, what is the intensity of this round? Which regions need to focus on prevention?
Chief forecaster of the Central Meteorological Observatory, Ma Xuedan: ① Currently, there is convection in the area from Baoding to Shijiazhuang, which is developing vigorously with strong rainfall. There has been a short-term heavy rainfall with the maximum hourly precipitation intensity reaching over 90 millimeters. ② It is expected that the precipitation system will continue to move eastward from the night of the 11th to the morning of the 12th, affecting Langfang, Cangzhou, Tianjin to Tangshan, including Daxing and Tongzhou in Beijing, where there may be heavy rain to rainstorm and heavy rainstorm in some areas, which will reach 100-180mm in terms of cumulative amount. At the same time, areas with relatively strong precipitation may also be accompanied by local thunderstorms and strong winds, such as strong convection with thunderstorms and strong winds of magnitude 7-9 The heavy rainfall that has occurred in this area overlaps with the previous heavy rainfall process in the Haihe River Basin, especially since the Haihe River Basin is still undergoing flood discharge. These flood storage and detention areas that have been put into use overlap with this round of heavy rainfall. So this kind of strong precipitation will inevitably lead to waterlogging in some areas and the rise of water levels in some small and medium-sized rivers, and will also have some adverse effects on the flood discharge in the Haihe River Basin.
