He said that for this meaningful public welfare activity, no matter how busy you are, you will definitely give it your all!

According to Hong Kong media Orange News, the 33rd Hong Kong Book Fair will be held from July 19th to 25th at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The theme of this year's book fair is "Children Come to Enjoy Youth", focusing on promoting children's and youth literature, encouraging young readers to cultivate their imagination and creativity through reading, and stimulating their interest in literature. Adults can also rediscover their teenage years, rediscover the charm of literature, and provide a platform to cultivate parent-child reading, allowing parents to accompany their children in learning and growth.
Orange News interviewed several Hong Kong SAR government officials to share their reading pleasure and recommend good books to make friends with. The guest of the first episode is the Secretary for Security of Hong Kong, Tang Bingqiang. In the program, he detailed how he discovered the joy of reading when he was young, how he learned management philosophy from books, and recommended good books to young people for reading.
According to the report, Deng Bingqiang from a grassroots family did not have much entertainment in his childhood, but only enjoyed playing football. Due to the lack of air conditioning at home, he enjoyed going to the library to blow on air conditioning, and reading became one of his entertainment activities. When it comes to who was the enlightenment teacher for reading, Deng Bingqiang thought of his older brother. He pointed out that there were six siblings in his family, and his older brother was the third. He was the first person in his family to be admitted to university and enjoyed reading books very much. He also enjoyed sharing different books with him. Deng Bingqiang recalled an interesting incident, "I remember one time I had already made plans to play football with a friend, but my brother caught me and I went to the library. I was really unhappy at the time and almost cried. But when I went to the library, I picked up a novel that looked very interesting. In the end, I burst into tears and laughed. Looking back, I think this incident was really interesting!"
As for what kind of books he likes to read, Deng Bingqiang, who has developed a reading habit since childhood, bluntly stated that he will read different types of books at different ages. When I was a child, especially in primary and secondary schools, I learned to read more novels. At that time, it was very popular to translate novels, such as "Treasure Island" and "Roaring Villa". He found these books very interesting. Later on, when he was promoted to university, he began to enjoy reading books on literature, history, and philosophy, where he could learn some philosophy and principles of being a good person, because "college students all pursue these things.".
When he joined the police force, Deng Bingqiang mainly read books on management because he felt it could be helpful for his work. Until now, he has undergone some changes and enjoys reading books about national development, biographies, and daily life sketches. However, Director Deng, who is very busy with work, admitted that there is not much time left to sit down and read, and most of them can only steal time to read in a fragmented manner.
According to a report by Orange News, Deng Bingqiang, who is usually majestic and serious, talks endlessly about the books that have had the deepest impact on him. It turns out that the brilliant treasure of ancient Chinese military cultural heritage, "Sun Tzu's Art of War," is his first choice. He pointed out that reading "The Art of War" by Sun Tzu at different times had different experiences. At first, he thought it was just a military book, hoping to learn some strategies from it. "Because when I was a police officer, I had to lead a team to pull people, so the book mentioned 'victory is not expensive for a long time' and 'attack unprepared, unexpected'. These strategies are very good and very useful!"
When Deng Bingqiang was in the management class, his experience of reading this book was different, thinking that it was a management science, or even a psychology book. "For example, the mention of 'the one who shares the same desire from above and below wins' or' knowing oneself and the other, one can never be defeated in a hundred battles' is no longer just a strategy book!" Deng Bingqiang pointed out that as one gets older, they have gained a lot more understanding. "Nowadays, when we see 'the one who wins in a hundred battles is not a good person' and 'the one who subdues others without fighting is a good person', it is said that it is always better to not fight than to fight, and the level of feeling and understanding is different!"
Regarding recommending good books to young people, Deng Bingqiang recently read the book "Love and Dream Flying" and hopes to recommend them to young people. This book was written by specialist doctor Zhong Haoran, who served as a flight doctor in the flight service team for 15 years. The book mentions the hardships of training, observations, and rescue experiences. Deng admitted that after reading it, he felt the greatness of medical staff. The special book mentioned that there were two cases where rescue was carried out in critical situations. In one case, a person on a bicycle fell into a mountain stream. At that time, the injured person was already unconscious, with no breathing or pulse left. After Dr. Zhong arrived at the scene, he had to perform a throat insertion surgery for the injured person in the wild, which was a very big challenge. Finally, Dr. Zhong rescued the injured person.
The second story tells of a ship that encountered strong winds and waves during its voyage under the influence of Typhoon Signal No. 3, and a crew member fell to the bottom of the cabin. Dr. Zhong and the flight service team were able to overcome all difficulties in such a harsh environment, lift the injured onto a helicopter and take them to the hospital, which was truly thrilling. Deng Bingqiang pointed out that both of these experiences are very wonderful and also demonstrate the selfless dedication and great love spirit of medical staff in saving others. They are a clear spring in the turbid world, so he hopes to recommend them to young people and let more people know about the efforts of medical staff.
Deng Bingqiang pointed out that reading has many benefits. In addition to increasing knowledge, it can also express different emotions and even have different experiences. Therefore, young people are very encouraged to read more. The SAR government has designated April 23rd as "Hong Kong Reading Day for All", and Deng Bingqiang strongly agrees. Promoting reading can remind busy citizens to spend more time reading every year.
