According to Henan Daily, on June 11th, the machine harvesting of over 85 million mu of wheat in the province came to an end, and the wheat harvest in our province has basically come to an end.
The large-scale machine harvesting of wheat in our province started on May 30th and lasted for 13 days, with a daily harvest of over 9 million mu lasting for 5 days. On June 2nd, 138500 combine harvesters were put into operation and 15.43 million acres were harvested, both setting a record high in history.

The early growth foundation of this season's wheat is still very good. Last year, there was sufficient soil moisture for wheat sowing, and the vast majority of wheat fields achieved "planting within the appropriate period and in suitable soil moisture fields". The wheat sowing foundation was the best year in many years. The situation of seedlings during the overwintering and greening periods continues to improve, with over 90% of first and second class seedlings. In April, our province fully implemented the "one spray, three prevention" policy with a focus on the prevention and control of Fusarium head blight, and the overall incidence of Fusarium head blight was relatively mild.
In our province, wheat is about to mature and gradually entering a critical period of harvesting from south to north. We have encountered the most severe continuous rainy weather in recent years, with abnormally high precipitation and reduced sunlight, which has affected the timely harvest of wheat in many areas of southern Henan, which is about to mature and has a promising harvest. At the same time, it has also had a certain impact on the grain weight and yield of wheat in northern and central Henan, which are currently in the grain filling period.
Running against the rain and grabbing the harvest have become the key words for this year's wheat harvest. Provincial Party Secretary Lou Yangsheng presided over two special video scheduling meetings for the "Three Summers" work in the province, with Governor Wang Kai making specific arrangements. The main responsible personnel of the Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs are responsible for daily scheduling, and each city and county is responsible for daily scheduling. Township cadres and resident work teams live and eat in the village, and are the first to identify and solve problems.

The agricultural machinery joined forces to grab the wheat harvest. During the wheat harvest period, our province invested 4 million large agricultural machinery, including 216000 combine harvesters. After continuous cloudy and rainy weather, the wheel harvester couldn't get off the ground. 30000 crawler harvesters rushed to the ground to harvest, and 4660 dryers kept running day and night. More than 600 normalized agricultural machinery emergency operation service teams and cooperatives have provided assistance in an area of over 450000 acres. Field paths, front and back of houses, cultural squares, and government courtyards are all clearing up land for wheat drying.
Collaborative assistance from multiple departments. The Ministry of Finance urgently issued 200 million yuan to support Henan Province in doing a good job in wheat harvesting, disaster reduction and loss reduction; The grain department has identified over 800 storage points and implemented classified listing, designated locations, and open procurement of damaged wheat; The insurance department has launched a rapid claims process to determine losses based on land use and ensure that all claims are made, in order to reduce agricultural losses for farmers.
Summer harvest is connected to summer sowing. Summer grain has been affected, and to ensure stable annual grain production and strive to achieve "autumn to supplement summer", summer planting is a key link.

With the rush to harvest wheat, summer sowing in our province is also being pushed forward, and various regions are seizing the agricultural season and suitable soil moisture for sowing. As of now, the summer sowing area in the province is 78.02 million mu, accounting for 85.7% of the expected area.
For plots that have not yet been sown, Guo Tiancai, a consultant of the wheat expert guidance group of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and a professor at Henan Agricultural University, reminds that after the wheat harvest, various regions should seize the favorable conditions of sufficient soil moisture, plant enough autumn crops as soon as possible, and strive to expand the planting area of autumn crops, relying on expanding the planting area of autumn crops to increase the total annual grain production. At the same time, during the growth period of autumn crops, it is necessary to focus on "resistance and disaster reduction, increasing yield per unit area", adapting to local conditions and seedlings, strengthening scientific and precise fertilizer and water management, highlighting the implementation of key measures for disaster prevention and reduction, relying on technology to increase yield per unit area and total autumn grain production, and ensuring stable annual grain production.
