Heilongjiang Province accelerates the construction of forest roads to ensure the supply of daily necessities for the people
As the floods gradually recede, flood affected areas in Heilongjiang Province are accelerating post disaster reconstruction work. The forest farm located in Mudanjiang City, Heilongjiang Province, also coordinates various rescue efforts, such as clearing roads, restoring power and water supply, and ensuring the daily necessities of forest farm employees and villagers.
Song Bingyi, Secretary of the Party Branch of the Nurturing Station Management Office of Tokyo City Forestry Bureau Co., Ltd. in Heilongjiang Province: Our main work now is dredging. 4 excavators and 9 to 10 dump trucks are used daily. The key now is to clean up our severely affected area, and the overall task completion rate is around 80%.
In this flood, 28 forest farms managed by the Tokyo City Forestry Bureau suffered varying degrees of damage, with 6 farms severely affected and road traffic, electricity, and communication all interrupted. In order to properly resettle forest farm workers and nearby villagers, relevant departments have mobilized multiple batches of rescue materials and built temporary resettlement and management houses.
Forest resident Wang Cuilian: Some rescue supplies are constantly coming to us, including some daily necessities and bedding. Thank you to all the people working on the front line in rebuilding our home.
It is reported that the flood has affected nearly 500 kilometers of roads in the forest area and nearby rural areas. Currently, there are still two damaged roads in the forest farms that have not been restored and are still in operation. It is expected that the restoration work will be completed by the end of August. The remaining affected forest farms and village roads have been basically cleared.
