Hebei Province launches preliminary work for the restoration and reconstruction of water damaged roads
Shijiazhuang, August 8th (Xinhua) - According to the Hebei Provincial Department of Transportation on August 8th, in order to improve the flood resistance capacity of post disaster reconstruction roads and bridges, the Hebei Provincial Department of Transportation has dispatched transportation technicians to carry out a detailed investigation of water damage to supporting roads, ensuring clear data and identifying the causes of water damage. It is expected to complete the preliminary work of restoring and rebuilding all water damaged roads by the end of August.
It is reported that Hebei Province has deployed transportation technology forces to support cities such as Handan, Baoding, Xingtai, Shijiazhuang, and Zhangjiakou. As of now, five support teams have arrived at the corresponding supporting cities to conduct on-site investigations on road damage, identify the cause of water damage, assess water damage losses, develop emergency recovery plans, and prepare engineering estimates. It is expected to complete the on-site investigation of the main road before August 10th and the rural road before August 15th.
This reconstruction will conduct in-depth analysis of the causes of water damage, draw lessons, deepen research on plans, formulate different construction standards for different highway grades and engineering types, and reduce the impact of water damage by strengthening slope protection and other methods.
