CCTV News: In recent days, due to insufficient precipitation and high temperatures, there have been varying degrees of drought in the central and northern regions of Hebei Province. In June, the average precipitation in Hebei Province was only 29 millimeters, which was 60% lower than the same period in the year. At present, Hebei Province has initiated a Level IV emergency response for drought prevention.
In Ansu Town, Baoding, Hebei Province, the local irrigated land has already experienced partial drought, and farmers are busy irrigating and replenishing soil moisture. The reporter learned from the Water Resources Bureau of Baoding City that in June this year, the average rainfall in Baoding City was more than 70% less than the same period in previous years. Strengthen the overall management of drought resistant water sources in the local area, solve temporary difficulties in drinking due to drought, and implement summer irrigation work through measures such as releasing water from reservoirs to ensure food security.
