On August 2nd, the reporter learned from the Beijing Blue Sky Rescue Team that Wang Hongchun, a female member of the Fangshan Blue Sky Rescue Team who lost contact during the heavy rainfall rescue, was found on the afternoon of August 1st. Wang Hongchun unfortunately died and made a heroic sacrifice.
Wang Hongchun, female, Han ethnicity, was born in March 1982 in Guashi Village, Fangshan District, Beijing. Prior to her death, she was the head of a real estate company in Beijing. Joined the volunteer team of Fangshan Blue Sky Rescue Team in March 2013.
At around 20:00 on July 30, 2023, the Fangshan Blue Sky Rescue Team received a woman from Baicaowa Village, Doudian Town, seeking help. She claimed that the water in her home was about 2 meters deep, and she was very scared with a child under 3 years old. The rescue team immediately organized members including Wang Hongchun to go for rescue, but due to the deep water on the way, all members withdrew. At around 22:00 that evening, Wang Hongchun accompanied the team to cooperate with the government of Liulihe Town to provide personnel resettlement and support services.
At around 3am on July 31st, Wang Hongchun once again went to Baicaowa Village with the team for personnel transfer work. When he arrived at the Bangezhuang Bridge at around 4am, he found that the foundation of the bridge was severely damaged and there were significant safety hazards when passing. Therefore, Wang Hongchun and five other team members cooperated with two road workers to stay on the bridge, intercept and persuade personnel and vehicles, and another group of team members walked around a 3-kilometer mountain road to transfer people to Baicaowa Village.
At around 9am on the 31st, a sudden flood peak occurred in the river under the Bangezhuang Bridge. Wang Hongchun and six other team members were quickly surrounded by the flood. They and two road workers chose to abandon their vehicles and board the ship as a self rescue method. The eight quickly put on life jackets, wore protective helmets, and fled in rubber boats. However, due to rapid flash floods, turbulent water flow, and too much floating debris in the water, the rubber boat capsized and all personnel on board were washed away by the rapids. After receiving the news that Wang Hongchun and his teammates had fallen into the water, six blue sky rescue team members who were transferring people in Baicaowa Village immediately rushed to search and rescue.

At 15:38 on August 1st, the fifth drowning team member, Wang Hongchun, was found about 30 kilometers downstream of the river and was rescued ashore. After on-site forensic confirmation, he showed no signs of life.
Wang Hongchun was one of the first members of the Fangshan Blue Sky Rescue Team. She was enthusiastic about public welfare and often paid out of her own pocket to support the team. In 2013, when she first joined the team, she self funded 4700 yuan to purchase a set of rope equipment for mountain and wilderness rescue in the team; During the heavy rain rescue and disaster relief, she settled down her 6-year-old daughter and her family, bought dumplings, instant noodles and other food at her own expense and sent them to the team, bringing warmth to the team-mates who were preparing for the rainstorm. Just before her last trip on July 31st, she woke up an hour early to cook dumplings for her teammates... Wang Hongchun was concerned about the blue sky and did her best to participate in public welfare activities, serve the people, and save lives. Life is priceless. Wang Hongchun devoted his limited life to the selfless action of saving the lives of others, which deserves our highest respect!
