Has it been dealt with, but public officials are still employed after being arrested for drug use? Unit response: True Discipline Inspection Commission | Du | Public Official
On June 19th, a netizen reported that Du, a staff member of the Agriculture, Forestry and Water Bureau in Kundulun District, Baotou City, Inner Mongolia, had been punished twice by the public security organs for drug use. "The first detention was 15 days, and the second mandatory drug rehabilitation was two years." However, as a national public servant, Du was not fired for this and is still working at the company.
On the afternoon of June 20th, staff from the Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Forestry and Water Bureau of Kundulun District responded to Red Star News reporters that the online report was true, and the Discipline Inspection Commission had taken relevant measures against him. Moreover, Du was not a civil servant, but a public servant.
The staff member stated that at that time, the disciplinary inspection commission had already dealt with Du's drug use. "The result of the disciplinary inspection commission's handling was to dismiss him from the party, reduce his salary to the minimum, then retain his position and hold public office, and now he will be used as an ordinary cadre. He is now the lowest paid in our unit."
The staff member also stated that since Du was dealt with in 2020, he has not relapsed. "We have been observing him and his work attitude is positive and his performance is quite good. After making the changes, he has not relapsed. I think we can use it normally, and I hope everyone can have a peaceful and correct view."
