Has a private villa been trespassed or rumored to be a "haunted house"? Local police: Investigating evidence collection video | Villa | Police
Recently, Ms. Yang from Yutan Town, Changchun City, Jilin Province, claimed that her private villa had been intruded upon without authorization. Some self media bloggers illegally break into it to earn traffic and shoot videos, and even maliciously spread rumors about the villa as a "haunted house".
On June 15th, a reporter from Chao News learned from the Yutan Police Station of the Jingyue Branch of Changchun Public Security Bureau that the police have intervened in the investigation of this matter and are currently collecting further evidence. The government staff of Yutan Town responded to the news reporter that they were aware of the incident and it was handled by the local police. The above staff stated that the villa here is a private residential property rather than a public place for business, so the government did not participate in the subsequent investigation.

According to local media reports in Jilin, Ms. Yang claimed that the relevant video was forwarded to her by a friend. After watching it, she was very shocked and "described my good villa as a haunted house, accompanied by a particularly terrifying music." Ms. Yang said that the villa is called "Yiqi Villa" and is an old house in her family. Currently, her family no longer lives here, but occasionally returns to trim the fruit trees in the villa on weekends. Recently, upon seeing false rumors maliciously fabricated on the internet, such as "the villa is a haunted house, and the residents have mysteriously died", they immediately returned to investigate.
What surprised Ms. Yang even more was that upon returning to the villa, she found that the originally intact door had been damaged and the window had been pried open, allowing someone to break into it without authorization. "There are signs of people searching for cabinets, decorations, and other items in the living room on the first floor and residential area on the second floor, with clothes and bedding scattered all over the ground." Ms. Yang also said that there are relics of her grandparents in the cabinets, probably two watches, one of which is worth about 58000 yuan. "The watches are now missing, and the total value of the lost property exceeds 90000 yuan."

Immediately, Ms. Yang contacted the person in charge of Jilin Yihang Media Co., Ltd., one of the companies that released the "haunted house" video. The other party claimed that the video was not filmed by the company and was downloaded and produced from the internet before being released. It had not entered the villa and the relevant works have been deleted and taken down. Ms. Yang said that she found a total of three bloggers who posted videos, and two of them were informed and deleted the videos.
Who broke into Ms. Yang's private residence without permission? At present, the police are investigating and collecting evidence. Lawyer Shao Bin, Honorary Director of Shanghai Bohe Han Shang Law Firm, told Chao News reporters that entering a citizen's residence against the wishes of the members inside the residence or without legal basis, or refusing to leave upon request after entering the citizen's residence, can all constitute the crime of illegal intrusion into the residence. "The villa is a private residence, not a public place. If you enter without the owner's permission, you are likely to bear criminal responsibility of up to three years' imprisonment or detention. If you enter the house without permission and still engage in theft of property inside, it constitutes theft and can be punished in combination with the crime of illegal intrusion into the house." Lawyer Shao Bin said.
In addition, regarding the infringement of maliciously spreading rumors about the villa as a "haunted house", Lawyer Shao Bin stated that Ms. Yang can demand that these self media bloggers and platforms that publish relevant videos immediately stop the infringement, apologize, and compensate for the losses caused by this infringement.
