On the evening of August 8th, the Chengdu Open Air Music Park in Sichuan Province was brightly lit. A wonderful "Youth Carnival" came to a successful end for the 31st Chengdu Summer Universiade.

During the Chengdu Universiade, the competition ran smoothly and cultural exchanges were frequent. Athletes and sports officials from various delegations praised the Chengdu Universiade. In Chengdu, achieving dreams and reaping beauty.

"This is my first time watching a game live, it's very shocking."

In the summer, Rongcheng is warmly hospitable, and young people from around the world gather in Chengdu. During the Universiade, many Chengdu citizens were invited to enter the stadium to watch the competition.

"This is my first time watching a match live, it's amazing!" During the Universiade, 17-year-old Liao Jiawei watched the women's volleyball bronze medal competition at the Xipu Campus Gymnasium of Southwest Jiaotong University. On August 6th, the Executive Committee of the Chengdu Universiade invited over 60 enthusiastic citizens who had provided valuable suggestions for the Universiade to watch the women's volleyball and men's basketball matches, witnessing the exciting moments of the Universiade together. "Inviting representatives of citizens who have made suggestions for the 'Universiade' to enter the venue and return their enthusiastic suggestions and valuable opinions. We particularly value the attention of citizens to the Universiade, which is the wealth of the city," said the relevant person in charge of the Chengdu Universiade Executive Committee.

The builders of the Universiade venues and the guardians of the urban environment also feel the glory of participating in the Universiade. On July 29th, 1000 designers and builders of competition and training venues watched basketball games in batches at the Phoenix Mountain Sports Park Basketball Stadium and Sichuan Provincial Sports Center. "When watching the game, I feel like I'm going home!" Diao Yangbin, who had participated in the construction of the Phoenix Mountain Sports Park competition venue, returned to the basketball court and witnessed the athletes' brilliant performance. On the evening of July 30th, at the women's basketball match between the Czech delegation and the Slovak delegation, 300 sanitation workers were also invited to watch the game and experience the atmosphere of the Universiade with everyone.

The smooth hosting of the competition cannot be separated from strong guarantees from all aspects. In order to provide stronger medical security, the Chengdu Universiade Executive Committee has formulated and issued 93 special medical security plans and work guidelines, forming a complete workflow of standardized transportation, reception, and treatment to meet multi-level and diversified medical needs. "We centered around athletes and coordinated the catering support work for various customers. During the competition, we provided catering services to 6500 athletes, tens of thousands of technical officials, guests, and staff from 113 countries and regions," said Yin Jian, the full-time deputy minister of the Support Department of the Chengdu Universiade Executive Committee.

Volunteer service is an important support for event hosting. During the Chengdu Universiade, 20000 volunteers were dispersed at competition venues, Universiade villages, main media centers, and technical officials to ensure the orderly progress of the event. In addition, there are 1000 city volunteer service stations distributed on the streets, providing convenient services and language translation and other volunteer services. During the Universiade, volunteer service stations such as Panda Base Station and Taikoo Li Technology Smart Station were particularly busy, and many tourists took the initiative to learn about the Universiade related information. "Volunteers have shown their enthusiasm in ordinary positions, provided enthusiastic and thoughtful volunteer services, and demonstrated the charm of volunteers," said Li Mingwei, Deputy Director of the Volunteer Department of the Human Resources Department of the Chengdu Universiade Executive Committee.

The smooth progress of the competition cannot be separated from safety guarantees. The Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Research Base is a key cultural experience site for the Universiade. During the Universiade, the Chenghua District Branch of Chengdu Public Security Bureau focused on the Panda Base and surrounding areas, established a special team, established an on-site command center, formulated contingency plans, refined response measures, and assisted in the smooth hosting of the Universiade.

At the closing ceremony of the Universiade, many spectators exclaimed, "A Chengdu in nine days is so comfortable!". At the closing ceremony, Sichuan opera's Qingyi and rapper sang duets, popular singers and rapper figurines collaborated, the Sichuan style guqin and violin harmonized, and traditional and modern, classical and fashionable elements collided and blended on stage, showcasing a diverse civilization and a colorful world.

The design of the closing ceremony is in line with the opening ceremony. At the opening ceremony of the Universiade on July 28th, the "Sun Bird" symbolizing brightness and hope, the "Silk Road" paved with Sichuan embroidery, and the enthusiastic and lively mascot "Rongbao" all made the world feel the charm of Chinese civilization with a long history.

The Chengdu Universiade is not only a stage for world university athletes to compete, but also an important platform for cultural exchange. During the Universiade, Chengdu focused on the Dayun Village and Dong'an Lake Sports Park, and held exhibitions on intangible cultural heritage skills, excellent traditional cultural experiences, and park city themed art, allowing domestic and foreign friends to experience the charm of excellent traditional Chinese culture and the most authentic flavor of Bashu.

Pandas, covered bowls of tea, bamboo chairs... Chinese cultural elements can be seen everywhere in the Dayun Village. As a window to showcase urban culture, Dayun Village has launched a series of cultural activities, including art carnival themed evening parties, Chinese intangible cultural heritage cultural experience activities, and park city themed art exhibitions. At the same time, unique cultural markets have been set up in the leisure and commercial areas, carrying out various activities such as showcasing and selling cultural and creative products, traditional cultural performances, and interactive experiences. At Dong'an Lake Sports Park, the Chengdu Universiade Museum displays over 900 physical objects and over 80000 collections of literature and images. As an important post game achievement, it will be open to citizens and tourists.

On the field, various cultural exchange activities have attracted many college athletes to compete and experience. Fencer Jonas from the Netherlands said after experiencing multiple intangible cultural heritage activities, "These interesting activities have made my life here rich and colorful." In the Chinese learning interactive experience area of the "Chinese Bridge" in the Universiade Village, gymnast Kunav from Slovenia earnestly learned Chinese. "I hope to learn Chinese well and take my family on a trip next time." Greek delegation leader Zinia, dressed in Hanfu and taking photos, praised the beauty of Chengdu's city and culture endlessly. "The thoughtful service and various activities have given us a deeper understanding of traditional Chinese culture."

Outside the competition venue, Chengdu has also organized 15 cultural exchange points, including the Panda Base and Sanxingdui Museum, and launched 10 boutique tourism experience routes, including the "World Heritage Classic Tour" and the "Three Kingdoms Cultural Exhibition Tour", to facilitate college athletes from all over the world to experience the charm of Sichuan.

On August 8th, during an interview, Ed, the acting chairman of the International Federation of Sports Federations, highly praised the venue facilities, event organization, volunteer services, and other work of the Chengdu Universiade, and praised Chengdu for building a cultural exchange stage for the world's youth. "The Chengdu Universiade was very exciting, allowing each of us to achieve our dreams," Ed said.

College athletes from all over the world also give frequent likes to the Chengdu Universiade, where they work hard to achieve their dreams and gain more friendship and growth. At the moment of parting, "Thank you, Chengdu!" became the most spoken word by athletes from various delegations.

"This competition is a new starting point, and I hope to continue working hard and striving towards new goals in the future." Xia Yuyu, an athlete from Tsinghua University, participated in the World University Games for the third time. She is very satisfied with her performance and full of confidence in the future.

"For me, coming here to achieve my dream is fulfilling it, and I am also qualified to participate in the competition. In the final round of the competition, I was encouraged by many spectators and worked very hard to complete the last lap. German track and field athlete Jens won the championship in the men's 3000m steeplechase. He expressed great gratitude to the Chengdu Universiade and enjoyed the process.". He said, "For me, my dream in Chengdu has come true!"

Brazilian swimmer Fernanda won a bronze medal in the men's and women's mixed 4x100m freestyle relay swimming event at the Chengdu Universiade. In her opinion, the realization of her dream is not only about her grades, but also about gaining the support of many people and the enthusiastic service of Chinese volunteers, which makes her feel like she has returned home. "This is my first time coming to China, and the friendliness of my friends makes me love China very much," said Fernanda, especially the volunteers who felt the warmth of Chengdu from the first sight. "Sometimes, they also bring some very surprising moments, such as communicating with me in my native Portuguese, and they have been helping us."

Chengdu achieves its dreams. Over the course of 12 days, 6500 athletes from 113 countries and regions competed fiercely in 18 major events and 269 minor events on the field of the Chengdu Universiade. The outstanding performance of the athletes left a deep impression on the audience, and at the same time, they also remembered the beautiful Chengdu.
