"May we hold onto our dreams, persist in our love, always be down-to-earth, calm and composed no matter where we are. May our hearts be filled with the rivers and mountains of our motherland, the great tasks of society, and the global landscape, and strive to achieve ourselves, others, and the world in our respective lives."
On the morning of June 28th, Communication University of China held the 2023 graduation ceremony and degree awarding ceremony.

Dong Lina was born in Dalian, Liaoning. She suffered from congenital amblyopia and completely went blind at the age of 10. At Dalian School for the Blind and Deaf, Dong Lina completed all the courses of compulsory education and used her spare time to read hundreds of braille books in the library's collection.
Later, Dong Lina enrolled in Dalian Blind Technical School to study Traditional Chinese Medicine Tuina. After graduation, she worked as a blind massager in a massage shop.
Dong Lina recalled that when she first started attending a blind school, the teacher told her and her classmates, "You must study tuina well, this will be your only way out in the future.". Dong Lina was puzzled by this and said, "Why can everyone only do the same thing and live the same kind of life? How can life be judged to have an ending at the beginning?"

In 2006, Dong Lina accidentally got the opportunity to learn broadcasting and recitation. She resigned from her job and came to Beijing alone. The first time she attended a broadcasting and hosting class, Dong Lina was deeply attracted. "I found out for the first time that sound has such a great attraction!"
Since then, Dong Lina has fallen in love with broadcasting and spends almost all her time practicing pronunciation by touching Braille, except for sleeping. In June 2007, Dong Lina obtained the Mandarin proficiency certificate of Level A with a score of 97.8. In 2010, she won the second prize in a national recitation competition.
Later, Dong Lina, as the host of the "Lina Reading Time" program, transformed words into sound and spread it to thousands of households. "The joy that reading once brought me, I also want to convey it to more people through sound.".
On the road of pursuing dreams, Dong Lina's footsteps never stop. In order to learn broadcasting and hosting more systematically and improve her professional level, she applied for graduate studies at Communication University of China. In July 2020, Dong Lina was admitted to the Broadcasting and Hosting Art major at Communication University of China, pursuing an academic master's degree.

Based on her own life experience and unique perspective, Dong Lina chose oral imaging as the starting point for her master's thesis. In real life, visually impaired individuals may encounter obstacles that healthy individuals have never imagined when enjoying cultural achievements, and oral images have become a way for visually impaired individuals to enjoy public culture.
When writing a paper, Dong Lina always thinks of herself who read in the small library of a school for the blind and deaf back then. At that time, Braille books were not yet abundant enough to fully satisfy her thirst for knowledge. Now, thanks to the progress of science and technology, many visually impaired people can use some Internet products in their lives with the help of information accessibility technology. "The cultural and artistic needs of visually impaired individuals should be more visible."
In the future, Dong Lina hopes to continue her deep cultivation in the teaching and creation of language art. "I hope to have the opportunity to become a teacher, do some teaching work, and share what I have learned with others. I also want to communicate with others through creating more works, and trigger more resonance."
Blessing Dong Lina
