Nowadays, the urban green coverage rate in the Hexi Corridor of Gansu Province has increased by an average of more than 10% compared to 5 years ago. Jilin Liaoyuan has made great efforts to implement the urban ecological restoration project, "filling the gaps with greenery" and restoring vegetation. The original barren mountains, waste water ditches, and corner spaces have been transformed into over 200 parks and green spaces of all sizes.
Ancient and famous trees carry historical memories. Chongqing has recently launched a new round of health check ups for over 3500 ancient and famous trees in the urban area. Staff use professional tree ground penetrating radar to scan the roots, measure the crown width of the trees, and track and protect them in a targeted manner. Changzhou, Jiangsu and Xiamen, Fujian have established "electronic archives" for ancient trees, introducing big data systems to comprehensively verify and input information such as the location, age, and protection level of each tree, and dynamically monitor protection.
