Fumio Kishida has been reported!
Japanese citizen groups have submitted a report opposing the discharge of nuclear contaminated water into the sea.
On September 1st, a Japanese citizen group, the National Liaison Committee Against the Discharge of Nuclear Polluted Water from Nuclear Power Plants, submitted a report letter to the Tokyo District Prosecutors' Office against Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Tokyo Electric Power Company President Kobayakawa, opposing the discharge of contaminated water from the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant into the sea. The citizen group pointed out that there are still radioactive substances in the treated nuclear contaminated water that cannot be removed. The state's actions of discharging into the sea are extremely serious.

According to Reuters on August 31, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida ordered his Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries to apologize for calling the treated nuclear radiation water discharged from the Fukushima nuclear power plant "contaminated water" and demanding that he retract this statement.
According to reports, earlier that day, Japanese Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Tetsuro Nomura, told reporters after a meeting with Kishida that the treated nuclear radiation water was "contaminated water.".
Tetsuro Nomura said that his discussion with the Prime Minister involved an assessment of "polluted water" being discharged into the Pacific Ocean.

The report also stated that Kishida later said in an interview, "His remarks are deeply disappointing. I have instructed Minister Nomura to apologize and retract his words."
According to Jiji News Agency, Nomura subsequently apologized and retracted this statement, but stated that he would not resign for it.
The Japanese government claims that the water it discharges into the ocean is "ALPS treated water" in order to distinguish it from contaminated water stored in tanks around damaged nuclear power plants.
