According to Qinghai Tibet Group Company, the Xige section of the Qinghai Tibet Railway starts from Xining Station in the east and passes through Huangyuan, Haiyan, Ulan, Delingha and Golmud Station in the west, with a total operating mileage of 829 kilometers. The Xige section improvement project, which started construction in July 2022, organized more than 3000 railway builders from Qinghai Tibet Group to overcome difficulties such as multiple points, long lines, large management spans, synchronous construction at various points, complex processes, dense traffic on existing lines, high safety pressure on business line construction, and adverse weather conditions. The existing infrastructure of the Xige section of the Qinghai Tibet Railway, such as the line, roadbed, bridges, and overhead contact network, was upgraded and renovated. The rain shelters, platforms, and passenger facilities of the entire high-speed train stop stations were reinforced and upgraded. The supporting protective fences, drainage ditches, and wind and sand prevention equipment were strengthened. At the same time, the Delingha station building was expanded, and a new Haiyan station building was built to facilitate the operation of the Xige section of the Qinghai Tibet Railway. The high-speed train with a speed of 160 kilometers has laid a solid foundation.
Pengpai News learned from Qinghai Tibet Group that during the initial operation of the Xige section of the Qinghai Tibet Railway, the railway department will arrange for one pair of high-speed trains starting with the letter "C" from Xining to Golmud and Xining to Delingha. The fastest travel time from Xining to Golmud is 5 hours and 30 minutes, and from Delingha to Xining is 3 hours and 29 minutes. Xining, Golmud, and Delingha will enter the 5-hour urban living circle, providing convenience for transportation for nearly 500000 residents along the line.
In addition, the CR200J Fuxing high-speed train launched this time is a power concentrated high-speed train designed for high altitude, low temperature and other environments along the Xining Golmud Railway. It has performance such as UV protection and wind and sand resistance, and can meet the operational needs of the 3500m altitude level. The high-speed train is equipped with a pressure wave protection control system, which can timely turn off the air conditioning fresh air outlet and waste exhaust outlet according to the signal of the front train when the train enters or meets the tunnel, avoiding discomfort to passengers caused by sudden changes in external air pressure, and providing a more comfortable riding experience. At the same time, in response to the low boiling point on the plateau, ultraviolet sterilization facilities have been added to the train electric tea stove.
According to Qinghai Tibet Group Company, the color of the Fuxing high-speed train is based on Chinese white, equipped with three tones of Chinese red, Chinese locust green, and Great Wall gray. The train consists of 9 cars and has a capacity of 676 passengers. Second class seats can adjust the direction of the rotating seats according to the needs of passengers, or face the direction of vehicle travel, or sit face-to-face with family members, providing passengers with a more humane riding experience; The business seat can choose from three modes: sitting position, half lying position, and full lying position. Each business seat provides functions such as touch screen, reading light, call button, and wireless charging.
The Qinghai Tibet Group Company also introduced that while high-speed trains are running on the Xige section of the Qinghai Tibet Railway, the Lanzhou Xinjiang high-speed railway is also operating at a high standard. On July 1st, after the opening and operation of the Lanxin high-speed railway, the first "G" prefix high-speed trains were launched from Xining to Beijing West and Shanghai Hongqiao. The fastest travel times in the two places were 10 hours and 31 minutes, and 12 hours and 58 minutes respectively, which were more than 8 hours and 13 hours shorter than the current fastest travel times. The accessibility rate from Xining Station to other municipalities and provincial capitals reached 83.9%.
