From the avian influenza epidemic area, Lhasa Customs seized 28 packages of smuggled peacock feathers from the sub bureau | goods | epidemic area
On June 9th, the Nielamu Customs Anti Smuggling Branch of the Lhasa Customs Anti Smuggling Bureau seized a case of suspected smuggling of goods and items prohibited by the state for import and export, and seized 28 packages of suspected peacock feathers smuggled into the country from epidemic areas, totaling 195523 pieces and 479.15 kilograms.
It is reported that police officers from the Anti Smuggling Sub bureau of Nielamu Customs conducted a long-distance attack of over 800 kilometers, setting up ambushes overnight at the border mountain pass at an altitude of over 4600 meters in strong winds and low temperatures, and taking 6 hours to solve the case. The seized goods in this case are from avian influenza epidemic areas. Once they enter the market for sale, they pose a threat to public health safety and the health of the people. The case is currently under further investigation.

Smuggling animals, plants, and their products from overseas epidemic areas of more than five tons but less than 25 tons, or an amount of more than 50000 yuan but less than 250000 yuan, shall be sentenced to fixed-term imprisonment of less than five years or criminal detention in accordance with the provisions of the third paragraph of Article 151 of the Criminal Law, and shall also, or shall only, be fined.
