On August 2nd, China Daily reported that every night in Chengdu Dayun Village, cultural temple fairs allow athletes living here to experience activities such as wearing Hanfu, playing chess, and playing traditional Chinese music. In addition, through augmented reality technology, the Chengdu Cultural Temple Fair also showcases Sichuan's ethnic and local culture to athletes.
The head of the South African delegation, Tabo Moilva, tasted Chinese green tea. He said, "I came here last Friday and the whole experience was very good. Everyone was very friendly. I really like Chinese tea, it's very delicious. Another thing I want to bring home is Chinese Hanfu, and I also bought some panda souvenirs."
The head of the Norwegian delegation, Sofos Rasmussen, stated that he and the Norwegian student athletes were immersed in their experience in Chengdu. "I like to taste the Chinese cuisine here, it's very delicious. My favorite is hot pot, although it's a bit spicy for me," Rasmussen said. "Of course, everyone wants to see pandas. Almost everyone on my track and field team saw real pandas in Chengdu, and they took many photos. We will definitely make time to visit various places in Chengdu, such as Kuanzhai Alley."
Indian fencing team leader Dihiron is also a Chinese cultural enthusiast. "I greatly appreciate Chinese culture, as well as the local culture of Chengdu. Nanbaekhan from Laos is a volunteer serving in the Dayun Village. She hopes to help athletes understand Chengdu and also wants to take them to her favorite commercial district and restaurant. Additionally, I am very familiar with this campus."
Volunteer Nitish Mahajan from Nepal stated that he immediately registered when the organizing committee began recruiting volunteers. "Being able to meet college students from all over the world is extremely valuable. In the process of providing help to them, I have gained a lot of happiness and made many new friends," he said.
Mahajan also stated that he is willing to help the people of Dayun Village whenever they need him. "In the traffic signal system, green represents' passable ', so I hope the volunteers' green uniforms can tell everyone that we are always ready to help them and provide them with the help they need."
Norwegian delegation leader Rasmussen also stated that volunteers are the key to the operation of the Chengdu Universiade. He exclaimed, "Cute volunteers are so important! Without them, what should we do?"
