At present, a Fuzhou Xiamen Railway with a designed speed of 250 kilometers per hour has been built along the coast of Fujian. However, as an important component of China's southeastern coastal railway, the passenger flow of this line has been continuously increasing since its completion in July 2009, especially during holidays when passenger flow is highly concentrated. The newly built Fuzhou Xiamen high-speed railway is the first cross sea railway in China with a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour. After completion and opening, it can effectively alleviate the tight transportation capacity of the existing Fuzhou Xiamen section of the Hangzhou Shenzhen Line.
After completion and opening to traffic, Fuzhou and Xiamen will achieve a "one hour living circle", while Xiamen, Zhangzhou, Quanzhou and other places will form a "half hour transportation circle". The fastest railway travel time from Xiamen to Beijing will be reduced from over 11 hours to about 9 hours.
The Anhaiwan Grand Bridge, with a total length of 9.5 kilometers, is the world's first ballastless track large-span cable-stayed bridge that spans the sea. After its opening, the high-speed train can cross the sea in just a few minutes.
China National Railway Group Co., Ltd. organized performance verification tests of new technology components on the Fuqing Quanzhou section of the Fuzhou Xiamen high-speed railway under higher operating speed conditions. On June 28th, at the Meizhou Bay Cross Sea Bridge, the test train ran at a single speed of 453 kilometers per hour and a relative intersection speed of 891 kilometers per hour. On June 29th, at the Haiwei Tunnel, the test train ran at a single speed of 420 kilometers per hour and a relative intersection speed of 840 kilometers per hour, effectively verifying the performance of new technology components. All indicators performed well, marking a milestone in the development of the CR450 high-speed train and laying a solid foundation for the smooth implementation of the CR450 technology innovation project.

The Fuqing West Station, located in the hometown of overseas Chinese, Fuqing City, adopts the design concept of "three pieces of land, spreading wings and soaring", integrating the characteristics of mountains and rivers entering dreams, reflecting the architectural characteristics of Fushan Bamboo Dream and the fusion of clear water and jade. The overall building of Putian Station echoes the trend of mountains and rivers, integrating the Mazu culture of Putian city into it, fully demonstrating the design concept of "combing sails to carry aspirations and soaring waves to sail far away". The Quanzhou East Station fully embodies the concept of "red brick ancient houses and sea silk sails" in the station building design, showcasing the urban style of "a hundred boats competing for a thousand sails, Quanzhou Gate on the sea silk road".
