Former Trump lawyer Giuliani is advised to revoke his lawyer's license. Trump | Committee | Discipline | Revocation | License | Election | Lawyer | Giuliani
The Disciplinary Committee of the Washington Bar Association released an investigation report on former Trump lawyer and former New York City Mayor Giuliani on the 7th, and recommended revoking his lawyer's license.
The report states that after the 2020 election, Giuliani "claimed without any evidence that there was widespread fraud in the election and filed lawsuits without reasonable legal basis, seriously damaging judicial fairness.". Therefore, the disciplinary committee recommends revoking Giuliani's lawyer's license.
Giuliani's lawyer issued a statement on the same day stating that he was "very disappointed" with the committee's decision and that Giuliani would file an appeal.
The recommendation of the Disciplinary Committee of the Washington Bar Association is not the final decision, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia will ultimately decide whether to revoke Giuliani's lawyer's license.
Giuliani, who is now 79 years old, has served as a New York District Attorney and Mayor. Giuliani has been serving as Trump's private lawyer since 2018.
The report also stated that Giuliani's efforts to assist Trump in attempting to overturn the 2020 election results have "unprecedented destructive purposes and impacts," and Giuliani has "consistently refused to acknowledge his mistakes.". Therefore, the report believes that Giuliani's "misconduct has exceeded his past achievements" and should have his lawyer's license revoked.
According to American media reports, several lawyers who assisted Trump in attempting to overturn the election results after the 2020 election are undergoing disciplinary investigations.
