Foreign media: The comprehensive strategic partnership between Algeria and China can be regarded as a model. Algeria | China | A model
According to the Algerian news agency on July 17th, Algerian President Abdul Majid T é ben began a state visit to China, a friendly country. The historical depth and strategic nature of the Arab China relationship will be further strengthened through this visit.
The report states that this visit will help strengthen the unbreakable and deeply rooted relationship and economic cooperation between the two countries. The historical relationship with China can be traced back to the establishment of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Algeria. China immediately recognized the interim government of Algeria in 1958, becoming the first non Arab country to do so.
In 2014, Algeria established a comprehensive strategic partnership with China. Today, based on the adherence of both countries to the principles of mutual respect and mutual benefit, as well as the willingness of their leaders to maintain continuous consultations and close cooperation, the two countries hope to elevate their comprehensive strategic partnership to a higher level, which is beneficial to the interests of both countries and their peoples, as well as to realizing their aspirations in global change and development.
According to reports, in order to consolidate bilateral relations, Algeria and China signed the second comprehensive strategic cooperation five-year plan in November last year, aiming to further promote exchanges and cooperation between Algeria and China in various fields such as economy and trade, energy, agriculture, science and technology, aerospace, health, and culture.
In the economic field, the pace of the strategic partnership between the two countries is constantly accelerating through the implementation of multiple projects that have strategic significance for the Algerian economy. In recent years, China has become Algeria's most important trading partner. According to Algerian customs statistics, China holds the top position in terms of supply in the Algerian market, with a share of over 16.5%.
Both sides are currently working to strengthen their cooperation in the fields of new and renewable energy, especially solar energy, hydrogen energy, wind energy, and geothermal energy.
The report states that the two countries have great potential in promoting higher-level bilateral cooperation, especially Algeria's intention to join the BRICS countries. President Teppen has emphasized this point multiple times this year and pointed out that China, Russia, and South Africa all welcome Algeria's accession.
Under the framework of the "the Belt and Road" initiative proposed by China in 2013 and joined by Algeria in 2018, bilateral cooperation has further developed. The foundation of this initiative is to maintain common interests and develop constructive cooperation among countries and peoples within a beneficial and equitable world system framework, and to contribute to world peace and security. Under this framework, the two countries signed the "the Belt and Road" cooperation plan last December.
The report states that Algeria and China share the same views on issues of common concern. The two countries maintain close communication and cooperation on regional and international issues, while also supporting the just cause and legitimate interests of developing countries.
At the international level, Algiers and Beijing are concerned about strengthening cooperation and coordination on international and multilateral issues, adhering to the principle of non-interference in the domestic affairs of other countries, continuing to promote democratization of international relations, and resolving conflicts through dialogue and peaceful means.
Regarding the visit of the Algerian President to China, an article was published on the website of the French newspaper "Public Opinion" on July 16, stating that a large delegation composed of ministers, senior officials, and members of the Algerian Economic Revitalization Commission accompanied the Algerian President's visit to China. The topics discussed during this visit include international issues, Chinese investment, and Algeria's accession to the BRICS countries.
The article states that the Hamdaniye Port project located in Shershal was decided in 2010 but was in a stagnant state before President Teppen took office. The French newspaper "Africa Intelligence" reported, "Restarting this project has been included in the talks with Beijing."
The heads of relevant departments in Algeria will also discuss railway projects connecting cities in the north and south of the country in Beijing. In addition, there is a project involving phosphates.
The article states that in 1958, China became the first non Arab country to recognize the interim government of Algeria. In 2013, China surpassed France to become Algeria's largest economic partner.
