According to the report, the G20 is an intergovernmental forum for major developed and developing economies in the world, with members including 19 countries and the European Union. The total GDP of the members of this organization accounts for about 85% of the global total, trade accounts for over 75% of the global total, and the population accounts for about two-thirds of the world. In addition to international organizations such as the United Nations, the World Health Organization, the World Bank, and the International Monetary Fund, this year's G20 summit also invited nine non member countries to attend as "special invited" countries, including Bangladesh, Singapore, Spain, and Nigeria.
The source said about the proposal for the African Union to join the G20, "This will be the right step towards a fair, equitable, more inclusive, and representative global architecture and governance. The Prime Minister strongly supports expanding the voice of southern countries, especially African countries, on the international stage."
